Ujam has set their sites on breaking into hybrid Orchestral libraries with the first Symphonic Elements instrument: STRIIIINGS. Amassed from composers Hans Zimmer's personal string recordings this library looks to challenge our notions of what a performance-based string library is all about. In this quick look video, we dig into the presets to get an idea of what the library can do right out of the box.
At the time of posting, STRIIIINGS is available for the promotional price of $119 (reg $169.00) from UJAM: bit.ly/3kJnLd1

Incredible sounds and a leap forward for UJAM . The wish list for future upgrades...MIDI drag and drop , making it a playable instrument , independent volume control for the bass and phrases section...

Indeed a cool library. Downloaded it earlier n got lost in it for couple of hours of exploring so many patches in it. Seems like it can be used in many genres, besides just film scoring. Fun for the whole family as they say 😙. Also, in some patches i definitely hear Hans Zimmer's style.

I may have been a bit hasty in assessing this plugin as too expensive when I first looked at the very entertaining review. I'm looking forward to more releases of their "symphonic elements" series. I can only imagine how easy it will be to create your own movie trailers with this and a brass and percussion version when they come out. This looks 100x more fun than NI "Action Strings".

They need to add a Keyboard so you can VISUALLY see what you're playing. Not all of us are keyboard players. Still, I'm incredibly impressed. Only bummer is I've been waiting over an hour for the Demo DL link and no it's not in my spam folder. Their site is probably getting hammered. I'm looking to try and drive this with Scaler. PS...YO HANS! When is the BRAAAASS Element coming out? :)

A Horrrrrrrrrrns one would be really useful, it's the interface that gives the inspiration and creativity to the library material, otherwise it's just a static sample library.

So I guess the only way to get intense strings is to stack multiple instances? It seems like it maxes out at a medium intensity; like they can't get past a medium-calm. There's no bite or fury. Or were the expression controls not utilized much? It seemed like that might've been the case in a previous orchestra video. Don't forget to use the expression controls please!
@INFINITYREALM
@INFINITYREALM 3 жыл бұрын
Your right, I'm going through now and finding the medium vibe throughout. Mod wheel only does so much. I was on the fence to get Jaegar a little while ago, and looking for that bite. edit* there are some parameters built in that can give some more juice.
@patrickblot3224
@patrickblot3224 3 жыл бұрын
Don't know if we have the same definition of bite, but the perception of certain presets/phrase is what i name "Epic", and with a single instance..i'm really impress (i own Novo, Rythmic Texture, Intimate Texture, Action Strings, but Striiiings blows me).
@jonathanbougie-lauzon4583

When you check the official demo on UJAM's site there is one moment when they seem to layer multiple strings ensembles on top of each other and it does sound huge. It does not seem to be done with many different instances of Kontakt but more like built in. Worth a check for sure in addition with this first look here so you get the developer showing you special features of the library.

It's easy to sound effective with short string attacks and hits. The presets sound wonderful. However there could be about a million other composers (including china!) submitting the same type of stuff trying to impress. Get to the end of the queue. As for the phrases, I have an old Siedlaczek library from 1999 if anyone wants them with similar runs and arpeggios. This stuff ain't cool, it's cold.
@citizenworld8094
@citizenworld8094 3 жыл бұрын
@@malcolmgerald I agree. However it's also fair to say that if John Williams were to submit a pitch for work nowadays, he wouldn't get past a 22 year old A and R "executive". The real orchestral world has come to a halt to some degree and sample libraries are, in my (with a lot of experience having performed with good orchestras in Europe and West Coast) view, only exacerbating the demise of the orchestral sound because the Spitfires are making us sound so predictable and more of the same. We need to work harder like you said. But I believe we need to work smarter as well as harder.

@@neyraxstuff-inactive7624 Yeah, it seems so. I am just very curious to know whether it's light or heavy on cpu and ram. And I am guessing when I create a new instrument track in Cubase, it will be shown as "Striiiings" or "Druuums" plugin. This is definitely something new.
