I have a lot of videos regarding mini twists, but unfortunately, they still don't cover everything you guys want to know! So I decided to make this video to answer, through demonstration, some of your most frequently asked questions regarding installing, maintaining, and caring for "Mini Twists". Some topics include:
1) How to avoid frizzy Mini Twists
2) How to avoid unraveling of Mini Twists and make them last
3) How to control your Mini Twists and get them to lay flat
4) How to Avoid Single Strand Knots on Mini Twists
So I hope this helps!

I tried doing the super tight mini twists and experienced a good amount of breakage, where I had not experienced breakage when I did my mini twists more loosely. The same thing happened with my daughter's hair. So I don't do them tight anymore.

Thank you so much for this video. The tight twist technique is a lifesaver for my hair. I always wondered why my twists didn't last and always unraveled in the middle of the twist so soon. I believe this technique will allow me to wear my twists longer. Your hair is beautiful.

I love mini twists and yours are amazingly beautiful! The only thing you didn't mention was shrinkage with mini twists. I make them super small like yours, but whenever I spray water on them, it shrinks back to my ears. Shrinkage shouldn't happen when I mini twist my hair right? Lol

In her video after she conditioned her twist they shrunk as well the way she stretched them way by wrapping them around her head like you would if your hair was straight. Check the "How to condition or deep condition mini twist" for more info.

So, posting an update. My mini twists are still in and looking aight. I do her wrap method everynight and like twice a week spritz it with water (AFTER IT IS PINNED DOWN) and seal with coconut oil. I took out my 'lazy twists' a few each day and redid them, which is probably why they still look pretty darn good. I didn't focus much on all the ones inbetween but the front and back ones... Lets see if I can make it to Sept 28. :P

Wow your hair is growing by the minute. now, I have QUESTION, your hair has alot of flexibility and elasticity. does that depends on your hair type. I find it more with woman with kinkier texture ex.. 4a 4b 4c department. that has elasticity, than woman with curly hair ex... 3a 3b 3c which lays downs meaning curly hair show the length but don't have that much flexibility and elasticity but still have shrinkage. than with some one that has a kinkier texture with flex and elas. what the deal????

I've recently tried braid outs and twist outs and it seems like my hair doesn't really take to these styles. If I do twist my hair, when I wake up in the morning I have to wet it again just to get my curls back. I have not found a technique that works for that will last for seven days. I will try this one and see if this will help. Do you have any other suggestions?

my hair has been able to grow to great lengths using mini twists as a protective style. i only stopped using it because i noticed that they really thinned out my sides. Do you know how to avoid that? I didn't twist tightly but i did wash them while they were twisted. let me know if you know anything because i'd love to get this style back. Love your videos!

To create a strong twist your suppose to twist with your finger tips. Twist each of the two separate pieces in the opposite direction of what direction the twists are. Like how they twists ropes. That's how the hair dressers do it.

Wow! Thank you for the tips. You are so right about being careful and not being lazy. I remember when I put mini twists in my hair last July for the first two to three hours I did them tight and small then I grew tired and made them bigger. There was a noticeable difference too in the ones that were tight as oppose to the ones I rushed and did. I will remember your tips the next time I put mini twists in my hair. Thank you so much for the tips Whitney. I wish there was a love button:)
