No more stink bug look! Nice install. Good option if you don't want to do a full lift. Thanks for sharing 😎

This truck was lowered in the back. I replaced the shackles back to stock raising it back to stock height. I didn’t show that. But with this install the truck looks good. The front looks higher now then the back should have been level.

Great video! I'm getting ready to tackle this job so thanks for posting. Why did you opt for the "donut" type top spacer rather than the "C" type bottom spacer? Is there a performance or safety concern I should know?
@DIYWilly Жыл бұрын
Hello Leo, I chose to use the “donut” type over the “c” at the bottom only because I like the size of it. Both types will achieve the same result. Good luck on your installation. Thanks for watching!!

Good vid. I have the same moto fab spacers but mine is a 3 inch. Will I need new control arms for my 3 inch spacers?
@DIYWilly Жыл бұрын
Hello Gumbo, The Chevys are notorious for having alignment issues and staying aligned. ( So I’ve been told ) I have the 2.5 lift and keep the tires rotated but still get issues with uneven tread wear. With 3” lift I would recommend getting new upper control arms to help keep the factory front geometry. It will also help with premature upper ball joint wear. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

I’ve had the same kit on my truck for a few years now and it definitely helps with tire clearance.

Do you install the back also??

Hello Deon, No I did not install any lift on the back. I just wanted to level out the truck. Thanks for watching!!!

did your ball joints snap yet after 2 years?
@DIYWilly3 ай бұрын
Hello kaliBlaz, No I haven’t had a problem with ball joints on either truck that installed this kit on. Everything including alignment has been fine. Have you had a problem with this type of lift? Thanks for watching!!!

So I Don’t need to remove the rotar and calipers??? 😮
@DIYWilly Жыл бұрын
Hello JSagil, It’s not necessary as you saw in the video as long as you support it to keep from putting tension on the lines. Or if your more comfortable with removing them that would be fine too. It’s up to you. Thanks for watching!!!

So what about the back? Did you change the lift blocks?
@DIYWilly Жыл бұрын
Hello l.s88ac, No I did not change anything on the back. The truck was actually lowered and I did reinstall the factory parts before adding the leveling kit. Thanks watching!!

do you get death wobble?
@DIYWilly2 жыл бұрын
Hello John, no death wobble. Everything is perfect. I’ve had the same kit on my Silverado for years with no issues. I will say though that these Silverados are hard on the alignment and this mod does make it more difficult. So find a good reputable shop to correctly do the alignment.

Can’t get the strut assembly back on. Holes won’t line up and can’t turn the gasket in the shock to line the holes up
@DIYWilly Жыл бұрын
Hello Andrew, You’ll have to rotate the strut to line up the holes. Then if the bottom holes don’t line then also rotate the bottom of the shock to fit. Fit the top first.. Hope this helps and Thanks for watching!!!

Almost the same process of a 01 chevy silverado?
@DIYWilly2 жыл бұрын
Hello David. If you have a 2wd truck the process is similar only your truck would require a coil spring spacer. In the video I used a coil over (Strut) spacer. Two different lift spacers. You would need to compress your spring, instal the spacer on the top of the spring and then carefully remove the tension on the spring and seat the spring and new spacer. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

Did you have to put after market upper control arms?
@DIYWilly8 ай бұрын
No it’s not needed. But with that said the Silverado is prone to alignment issues and quality aftermarket upper arms would help with that. I did not install upper arms and I just rotate my tires and have alignment checked when I see something odd. Thanks for watching!!
