Nice Work !!

Nice work! :) But that "spade" down at the staff is a human backbone, just like the ones underneath the skull. unfortonately that was the awesome detail of that mini that you were missing compared to the regular orks
@gaminggeek2417 жыл бұрын
Ah, that's what that is!
@bneffer5 жыл бұрын
So easy top miss some details until after having painted some minis - especially minis like this that are "busy" but not particularly "sharp", at least as compared to GW for instance.
@TodiloDaSloth7 жыл бұрын
For the blocking layer, dont you thin your paints? And if you do how the heck do you get that great coverage. I feel like I have to put like 3-4 thin layers to get good coverage (without erradicating all the details on the miniature).
@gaminggeek2417 жыл бұрын
I don't thin my paints. Are you using dedicated mini paints? Also, the kind and color of your primer spray will make a difference.
@TodiloDaSloth7 жыл бұрын
Gaminggeek I use either gw or vallejo paint, priming white. Just starting to get a hang on consistency. Everywhere I look I see "Thin your paints". Trying to follow your colour schemes but don't want to paint thick layer, removing nice detaila.

He often wets his brush off to the side before filling it with paint. Maybe that's what you're missing? I haven't painted many minis but that helped for me.
@gaminggeek2417 жыл бұрын
Yes, Nick is correct. I keep my brush wet if the paint is getting too thick.

How does one get there hand on this game? I played the demo with a few friends but i can't find anywhere online to buy it. If you could tell me it would be very appreciated.

This was a kickstarter -you can probably get in on Ebay now but I believe it'll be for retail in the not so distant future!

coolstuffinc.com has it in stock and they are selling copies for about $55!! Played the first quest today and it was a blast.

Nick Luzia : I got my copy for $65 through Noble Knight Games....a great company to get harder to find items.

Just curious: Why not use the big tin/can of Quick Shade?
@tillmerten76207 жыл бұрын
Mikael Borup- i would guess because the one in the big tin is super glossy, while the other one is not?
@gaminggeek2417 жыл бұрын
The big tin of Quickshade is oil-based varnish which works perfectly fine but takes a lot longer to dry (like 8 hours at least). I actually use Minwax as an alternative because it is five times cheaper.
@tutubeater17 жыл бұрын
do you worry about the durability without priming the mini's?
@tamarackstreehouse7 жыл бұрын
The first coat is likely the primer. If you watch they start off in Red/Green/Blue... thats the actual primer.

HI, do you have other sword & sorcery painting video?

Sorry, no, this is my only S&S painting tutorial. But you can use the same techniques for the other models.

thanks this is the good video

@@gaminggeek241 hey, did you prime the models with colorless prime?
@gaminggeek2414 жыл бұрын
@@SabinAlbei No, I primed them with rattle can spray paint. So the blue models got a coat of blue, the red a coat of red and so on.

How do you find the game now that you've had some time to play it? I got the KS pledge as well and have just really finished the Prologue with 4 characters solo. I restarted with 2 characters about 3 times, due to both dying and rules I forgot or had played wrong. I can say I enjoy the game and am looking forward to playing more. I have to play some more to see if it's really a good game or not though.
@gaminggeek2417 жыл бұрын
I do like it a lot, especially as a solo experience. I can't really play any of my other dungeon crawlers as a true solo game so I like this a lot.
@blackpope88347 жыл бұрын
Did you back Massive Darkness?
@gaminggeek2417 жыл бұрын
I did but I have yet to receive my pledge. Not sure if I am going to keep it though.
@tempestfury83247 жыл бұрын
Compared to Galaxy Defenders (the forerunner of this game really), I am really disappointed with the miniatures in S&S! I might paint them later but they are really low on my priority list. Thanks for the video though!
@FeliPeltier4 жыл бұрын
Sword & Sorcery was probably the least fun I ever had painting miniatures 😒.... enjoyed your video though!
@pingpong48117 жыл бұрын
Caution, this is displaying a really bad and low level painting technique.
@wasgaming79327 жыл бұрын
No......it is displaying a quick and effective tabletop quality painting technique.........or as the title says "quick" paintjob. No where does it say that this a pro paintjob or intended to be that.
@Justin-gd6uf6 жыл бұрын
What parts of the video demonstrate "low level painting"? I'm honestly just curious because I will be painting my set soon, and would like to know what to stay away from.
@bneffer5 жыл бұрын
This comment is unfair and judgemental, IMO. This video shows an entry level method to get started painting. Learning more about how paints behave and honing your technique takes real experience, and if a viewer has no entry-level examples, they may be intimidated and not try. I commend Gaminggeek on this the video, providing an entry level example.
