That last recipe was more or less just fried potatoes - even if you did call it "roasting" when you had the potatoes in the skillet. You just boiled them for a few minutes before frying them. Fried potatoes are a standard in the Southern United States! People put their own ingredients in those fried potatoes to their own taste and the taste of their families.

Beim Kartoffelkochen, nehmen alle viel zu viel Wasser, die Kartoffel müssen nicht im Wasser schwimmen! Sie müssen nur zur Hälfte mit Wasser bedeckt sein! Ist das noch niemanden gesagt worden??
