I wonder if aluminum rims on the trailer would help lower the temperature of the wheel hub/bearings/ seals... I know aluminum rims are expensive but it may be cheaper in the long run...!!!! And your trailer will look great too...!!!! Just don't put white walls on the trailer.... That would be over doing it...!!! Lol

Good video O G triple OG....I would keep the old bearings on the truck for back up. 2 ND I would drain the new hub oil.and replace it with Lucas Big struck oil stop leak until you eventually run grease. Lastly look into some Centramatic wheel balancers. They will prevent wheel hop, lower wheel temperature and save the bearings from the wheel being un true. Good job fellas. 👏
@adventuresintrucking1995
@adventuresintrucking1995 2 жыл бұрын
Already got the centramatic wheel balancers on the truck absolutely love them .. will definitely be moving toward that in the future for the trailer. Also we already have new spare bearings races and seals inner and outer so we dont even have to worry about running an old ones

Hey mate I am really enjoying your channel I am a owner driver in Western Australia. I run a 6 tonner it’s a 2012 UD straight truck it’s a flat bed. I started with a 1995 Mitsubishi canter 3 tone flat top I bought for $3500 dollars. I ran that truck for years with no air conditioning spring suspension all round and it’s only has a 5 speed no turbo.the roads here in Western Australia are really bad as we are on sand here in PERTH so you get a lot of sagging on the asphalt and underwash.it really throws around the cab. it. it’s a back up truck now. I sure do enjoy the comfort of a modern truck. And congratulations on your new truck and waiting for so long to afford it rather than what a lot a folks do borrow too much. You are a good role model. was wondering what you paid for your freighliner truck . Or one similar.? And how much dose a gooseneck trailer normally cost? I really like how you guys in the USA can run the gooseneck trailers on your pickup trucks that can carry a good pay loads. And I like the fact that in your videos you speak so calmly it’s relaxing and very informative. Well done all round !! Happy trucking 👌👍😊best regards Darryl

Hey Darryl this was such an amazing comment for many reasons. I started over the road in a ‘88 Ford F800 it didnt have AC the lights was just ball of wires that you jiggled around until the ones you wanted came on. It was Spring ride. I had to wear combat boots and socks to keep my feet from burning up. It had a tractor engine in it made in brazil for only 3 years and it wouldnt pass emissions in the US so they stopped making it. As for the truck they go for about 120k-140k used and 195,999 new (i didnt pay any of those prices of course but now thats what theyre going for)
@bryonsusedautos
@bryonsusedautos 2 жыл бұрын
Also why did you go with a gooseneck trailer for that truck and not a step deck or a semi truck style flatbed? On that trailer if you plan on running it for a long time i would maybe just upgrade to disc brakes!!!

I don't trust the bearings with oil... I'm installing old school greased bearings...!!!! It seems that bearings aren't made of the same quality as in the past... There are bearing companies for industrial use in Houston Texas and I'm thinking about replacing mine with those... Of course I'm going to pay 2-3 times more but it'll be worth it... Oh, they also sell bearing seals Wich I'm also going to replace with the high end industrial seals also....

Build a shop next. Find a nice piece of land in rural Georgia and build a 30’ x 75’ shop that you can drive the whole truck in. Keep an old car or motorcycle there so you can go home as needed. Should be able to find something within 30 miles of home. Love your home but you need an inside work area, called a garage.

I avoid having a shop work on any of my stuff. When they charge what they charge, I feel that the tech doesn’t have my best interest at heart. He may “camp out” on my work order which costs me money. I just don’t trust them anymore these days, work ethic just isn’t what it use to be. If a person knows how to turn a wrench and repair things, they could really save some money and have peace of mind that the job was done the way they wanted and corners weren’t cut.

Yes that job you have just done is a pretty straight forward job for anyone who has some automotive mechanical skills about themselves, and I agree with you that some of the shops charge to much for labor, and I think they camp on some of the work orders and the techs don't have your job at there best interest. I also do my own work if I can in my garage or driveway. So thanks for the video and talk, I hope these people get there shit together on your loads and it smooths out for you stay safe out there on the road.
