I've watched this several times and I'm still finding new details. The messed up subtitles, the clearly post-added sound effects, the _slightly questionable_ cooking technique, the unnecessary thirst trapping, the bad knife work trying to hide behind fast-forwarding, the not so subtle self sponsor, the god awful transition into a loop ending, the phrase "POV" that doesn't really mean anything, THE LOFI LYRICS I'M JUST NOW HEARING. And so much more I can't even list. This might be your densest video to date, and that's saying a lot.

Watching the landscape of cooking media change over the years has been interesting. It feels like just yesterday the top down, sped up Tasty style video was the standard for cooking content. Now production quality and editing has gone through the roof and this Weissman/Max the Meat guy style is everywhere. Dim lighting, close ups, fast cuts, and an emphasis on the sounds of cooking.

something I found as a "quick caramelized onion" trick that tastes closer to the real thing is to use jamaican 'browning' which is just dark brown sugar caramelized as close to burnt as possible then dissolved in salty water. i made it myself because the stuff from the store had weird artificial colorants. it's awesome for adding color and accelerating browning
