i'm 14 years old and i'm transitioning for 7 months now. I had long hair all my life but in 6th grade i had a relaxer and i really regret it. I never knew that I had curly hair! I almost have the same curl pattern than you. I'm experiencing with my hair . My mom never let me do my hair when I was younger. Just to say you're such an inspiration for me.You're my goal😍. sorry for my english i live in montreal...

Aww thanks so much! You're almost the same age as me when I went natural. I think I started transitioning at 15 and big chopped a year later at 16. So don't feel bad lovely!

Mikashley Joachim SAMMME!! I regret having a relaxer cause all my life I wanted straight hair. But I barley let my hair out and it’s breaking off a lot and I don’t want to keep doing the same hairstyle I put it in everyday. Now that I’m looking back on baby pictures I notice how curly my hair was and how I miss it 😩. I’m transitioning as well

I've been thinking about going natural for a long time and even time I Bring it up my mom keeps telling me that the relaxers do good friend my hair. which I know is not true. it's good for the managablily of my hair but not for its health at all. my hair dresser keeps telling me I can't transition because of the song different textures and that my hair would break off. but I realize that I will need to be careful where the hair meet. she makes it sound like it's impossible for me to go natural without getting the big chop. so I was wondering where do I start as far as transitioning. I don't know what styles to do or how to maintain it without braking my hair off PLEASE HELP

Gpie 202 utilize protective styles (braids, twist outs, etc) until you get comfortable with your length and hair pattern to try wash n go's since you have different textures. It's important to keep your hair moisturized so develop a routine like the LOC method (leave in, oil, cream) to keep your hair hydrated. And I really like the OGX Renewing Moroccan? conditioner (blue bottle) it really helped my curls!! Hope some of this helped :)

Gpie 202 I recently transitioned, I had my last perm December of last year and I cut my permed ends a week or two ago. As far as transitions, I suggest a lot of protective style, most particular braids, twist or weave anything that is going to help grow your hair without touching it constantly. It'll be hard, but try it out and KZbin videos are there to help. Good luck❤️

I literally wore my hair in buns and protective styles for a year and a half but it's worth it trust me. It's weird seeing your natural texture especially if you haven't seen it since you were a child

Never a high ponytail; only a low/ mid-low ponytail. My high ponytails are always too weird/ wide and people say I look like a Simpson's character (I think they're referring to Krusty the Clown... idk lol)

Am I the only one? If I wet my hair in the sink or with a spray it gets worst like frizzy dry wet? And end up wetting my hair all over again ?
@Jewellianna
@Jewellianna 8 жыл бұрын
Mine does too. That's why I almost always make sure that I am putting conditioner on it along with water. Unless it's my roots (which need to be dripping wet), then it gets really frizzy if I just spray it with water or put water on it. Mixing the water with conditioner helps to prevent the frizz by moisturizing it and it only dampens the hair, not completely wet it.
