Agreed, I think Bernard has his Leinster glasses on saying Prendergast played very well in the first 50, Kick offs were too long, garryowens were too long and he tended to just catch the but ball and ship it on standing still (reminded me of Ross Byrne), I don't think he attacked the line at all. When Crowley came on he showed more variation. Prendergast is a huge talent but needs time.

Respectfully, this is such leinster bias from Bernard Jackman. Crowley is the number one 10: winning the URC and six nations. He's had two losses at international level, against England at Twickenham and against a SA full test side in the cauldron. Both times there were serious questions about Ireland's go forward ball from the pack. Himself and Casey came on yesterday and rescued the match by putting some zip in it and getting in behind Australia. Prendergast is a fine young player who needs minutes with Leinster at 10... Crowley will develop further at 10 for Ireland, his obviously excelleny physicality, positional sense and game management will all improve too, as he moves from 24 years of age through 28 and 30. As was the case with Smith, Russell, ROG, Sexto, etc. If you are picking lions 10s Crowley is in the mix for sure, with Smith and Russell, Prendergast is not... next time around maybe...

You get the idea. Cynical yes but how many Lions will be ambassadors for promoting the game in Tasmania or Adelaide? Playing against University Teams? Or Combined Services?
