Excellent lesson thank you. Sargent was brilliant. Wyeth troubles me now that you point it out. The elements disturb me like Cristina is grasping for something. And she looks waifish. Haunting image.

..i use triple primed canvas but still my oul painting look duller at the end...initially look vibrant..why ? How many coats of gesso are recommended?

I recommend panels instead of canvas

Three should be plenty. Is your gesso a professional grade acrylic gesso? If it is, then if could be that you are using too much solvent with your colors. Also, the opaque colors do tend to sink when dry. Oiling out can fix that.
