Luminosity is what I'm applying in my alla-prima small landscape paintings based on your clear and solid tips!! Thanks a million for sharing really helpful content Dianne! We admire you and love your generosity to share knowledge! Greetings from SanMiguel de Allende, where the sunsets are inspiring for me to paint since several months! All the best Dianne!!

Thanks for getting to the nuts and bolts under the hood on one this QT and the others I viewed . Finding oil painting to be challenging and exciting (when you have a goal and purpose ). your QT's provide the rationale why the things I tried by reconstruction ,trial and error worked so beautifully - retired engineer

OH my goodness, WOW!! So much here; I was just thinking that some of us (especially as an older relatively new painter, won’t be going to art school, I don’t live where there are workshops and can’t afford to travel to one etc) would likely never have known this much about luminosity, without you Dianne, maybe I would not even have known about luminosity at all. Would I have even thought to find an online workshop or lesson on this topic? I/we would have missed out on what I am thinking is a life changing knowledge for painting!! I can’t thank you enough Dianne ❤ I’m also learning so much from your lessons (on series 12 now) and looking forward to going through all that you have available. If you are reading this and haven’t purchased any, you need to try one….. low cost with the high level of content you see on Quick Tips!

Thank you for this video! I’ve been struggling with skies, and this explanation was a genuine Eureka. Your presentation was so clear, I’m actually having trouble understanding why I was so confused about this, because after watching this video the concept of luminousity is now as clear as a summer sunrise. One question: do you need to keep one element of colour constant, or can you vary all three at once? Thanks again. Hope you are doing well!! Take care. ❤

The hue can certainly vary as can the saturation, but keeping the values close is important.

Hi Dianne, thanks so much for your YT clips. I find them really helpful and informative. Could you give me some details of the color picker you used on this QT476? Thanks. John

John, I use the color reader in Artrage.

Obrigada.

What color reader are you using, if I may ask please?
