Quick Tip: How To Fix A Salty Soup
Starches are amazing absorbers!!! Adding some raw potato to a soup of stew that is too salty can change/fix the problem... let the potatoes boil and cook in the soup ( they will absorb a lot of the salty liquid).. after 10-15 minutes of the potatoes ( or any starch like rice or pasta) boiling in the liquid remove them... Re taste the soup or stew... the salt level will have gone down!
you can then add some more fresh water back into the soup and allow it to boil and simmer together saving the flavor you were originally going for.
