I wish Sig would switch from their current "Combat Sight Picture" (front sight dot covers intended bullet POI) to the "Center Hold/Half and Half sight picture" where the front sight dot cuts in half the intended bullet POI. The former obscures the target more than the latter.

Mission dictates gun choice. If your going for say ccw instead of target it's more practical to have this the combat sight system especially for those who aren't gun people. Also if you have the $ for Sig you probably have the funds to tweak your sights to a custom/preferred set up. With that said I mostly agree with you. Not a huge fan of my poi covered but for a small ccw like my p365 xl and most average joes, it'll due the job just fine. Especially for female customers that just want simple protection

From SIG website, they only have #6 & #8 for p320 In general, the higher the front size number (i.e. 6), the lower the height of the sight. For the rear sight, the higher the number (i.e. 8), the higher the height of the sight. EXAMPLE: If you wanted a high front sight post and a high rear sight, you could choose to get a #6 front sight / #8 rear sight.
@zh34012 жыл бұрын
The sight size front to rear can differ due to caliber within a single model. Case in point my Sig Sauer P226's in 9MM and 357 Sig do indeed have #8 sights front and rear. However, my P226 in 40 S&W has #6 front and #8 rear from the factory. This is verified by TruGlo who made many of the Sig sights and by a discussion with Sig Tech line. My P226R SCT has fiber optic front (from the factory) which do not have a # designation, only TG-H3 the manufacturers designation.

Both my P365 and P365 XL were shooting low. I emailed sig about getting them set up to shoot at 40 feet. This is the response I received. Thank you for contacting Sig Sauer customer service. Our guns are defensive ones in almost all cases, and so they are sighted for point of aim to exactly match point of impact at 15’, the median distance where a defensive situation will arise. In my head I thought this would make my stock set up shoot high at 40 feet. Weird that they shoot low. I will be getting the Romeo Zero when it comes out and sighting it in at 40 feet. @philyamascunt75182 жыл бұрын
I just bought an 320X Compact and mine also has the number 8 sight both front and back. At 10 yards my pistol shot high for 5 shots and I stopped shooting with a WTF moment. I fired 4 more rounds and all 4 going to the spot that my initial 5 shots landed so another WTF moment. I then looked real good at the sights and found my problem. I was "Flatlining" the front and rear sight like I almost always do and since the back sights have no color in daylight my flatlining had the dot on the front sight riding higher than the dots on the rear sight. My next shots were with the dots all lined up and it was great. With the dots all lined up the top edge of the front sight sits a little lower than the top edge of the rear sight and by flatlining the two top edges I shot high. I will have to shoot more often to make sure that I don't flatline the Sig. More rounds down the barrel is never a bad thing, well it wasn't before Scandemic 2020 was launched but thank God I learned to reload at 8 years old and started loading my own ammo a long time ago at age 14

I just got my first Sig P226 MK-25. I'm not a super experienced shooter and I definitely don't understand the finer details of guns as well as many out there, but I am trying to learn. My gun came with an 8 front sight and 6 rear sight. When I was trying to line my front and rear sights up perfectly flush and equal, all the shots were shooting super low. My husband had the same issue and he's a much better shot. (When we shot aiming the front sight higher than the rear, it evened out the shots more.) However, in the examples in this video they said it would have a 6 on front and 8 on rear, but mine is opposite. Is this okay? Should I just play with it more and learn how to shoot using EITHER the front or rear sight alone rather than trying to line them up? Should I change out one or both of my sights? Obviously I'm going to try to do more research of my own to get this figured out but I will please take any help I can get! Thank you!

@CalebSavant5 жыл бұрын
Great question, the rear sight is proprietary so adjustment will need to be done on the front sight. Moving on the the M17 with a mounted Deltapoint Pro, the Sig front sights do not currently go high enough in elevation to properly zero that combination. Dawson Precision manufactures a sight that is high enough. When ordering, Leupold recommends measuring from top of slide to the bottom of the optic window and then add .080" to determine proper front sight height.

American engineering is much more simpler, much effective, more intuitive, cheaper, and reliable.
