Some lil orchid tips: NO ice cubes, clear/see through pot with drainage holes, water from bottom, let soil dry out inbetween, lots of light and they only bloom every 3 months(no blooms does not mean dead, watch for healthy leaves while not blooming)! 😁❤️

My mum doesn't have them planted she has them planted in like bigger wood chip type things specifically for orchids and hers are so healthy she has 2 of them. And yes see through pots!

Jennica! Next time you buy a ceramic pot MAKE SURE IT HAS A DRAINAGE HOLE lol! You can use the one you bought but be careful and try to avoid over-watering because aloe is in the cactus/succulent family and can easily rot if it has too much water. Be sure to let the soil fully dry before watering. I too have aloe and orchids and your orchids may have died from too much water, not enough water or died from shock due to the cold temperatures of the ice. I recommend watering about once a week with 1/4-1/2 cup of water. I also recommend the Miracle Grow Orchid plant food spray. ILY and happy planting!

I just love that Ikea is the same all around the world. You seriously could have been walking around in the local Ikea in my hometown here in the Netherlands. It's always a little trip to go there. Even if you only buy a few bits and pieces. Eating at the restaurant. Love it! Orchids are my favourite plants/flowers and they flourish here. I do absolutely nothing special and I think I'm just lucky that the windowsill where they sit just has the perfect conditions for orchids.

I would also recommend following plants with Krystal. She does really great shorts, primarily cactus material but a lot of other orchid material. Watering the orchids with filtered room temp water is great. You can also put holes in the pots with a drill, place a piece of tape and drill through the tape so you do not break the pot.

I had my first IKEA trip not too long ago also. Drive to the one in St. Louis. I was in awe and I think we were there like 3 hours. The only thing I actually purchased was a microwave plate cover so your leftovers don’t splatter all over the place. Lol. Also, for the orchids, you need to re-pot them in different soil…as you should with most store bought plants. The soil from the stores isn’t the proper soil for them.

Try not putting the actual ice cubes in your orchids. You can freeze your roots. Try putting the amount of water it takes to fill up the ice cubes. Also your orchid blooms will fall off and will rebloom. When the blooms fall off still continue the care so the blooms can come back

My orchid does that all the time but eventually regrows. All the time I've had it for nearly two years and it looks dead and soon enough it alive again lol I don't know what it is . I have mine in my bathroom as well I don't know if it like the humidity or what. 😅

Try to soak your orchid in a bowl of water once every week or two or just when the moss dries out. You dont need to keep the moss evenly moist, i dont really understand the icecube situation, I guess for the slow melt, im not sure. But you can try the soak thing every one or two weeks, im not sure if it will help, i've never had my own orchid so im probably not the best with giving information... But!!! I hope this will do some help.

I normally do a bottom feed soak with any of my indoor plants. A little bit of water on a small plate or tray and let her soak it all up I've had so many plants die it's sad 😂
