God I feel like the GameCube was nintendos competitive peak, not just for melee, but this game too. When you look at GX, you see the plethora of ways there are to play, with the different machines, custom machines, race tracks, hell even the different ways to turn. I love the GameCube. Such a shame it failed.

Thanks so much for making these videos dude! Just by learning quick turns alone, I've beaten all my old time attacks and made some serious progress on beating the story mode on very hard.

I recently got this game from Amazon, after having spent a massive amount of time playing X, and I have found myself at a massive learning curve between the two and my copy did not come with the manual so these have been invaluable learning to play this game in comparison to X.

Old post here, but even the manual don't describe quickturning. The most it does is describe that holding both shoulderbuttons will cause you to turn in a different way.
Wow, I actually never did this ^^' Mostly use one trigger and spamming the attack in the direction I want if the trigger alone isn't enough. Thanks for the tips :D

Noob question here: why not just hold the shoulder trigger of the direction you wanna go in? Why squeeze both triggers first? What is different about that state as compared to just sliding?

Sliding doesn't turn as sharp, squeezing both loses grip for a short moment and then regains it when you release.

0:58 What is 'MT essing'? Yeah I know I must have misheard, but you know what i'm talking about.

MTS-ing, Momentum Turbo Sliding. Basically it's when you enter a drift then slide by pressing L or R and holding the opposite direction on the analog stick. I have a vid on it to.

I am noticing zero difference between this quick turn and any other turn.
