Dude. Been looking for this. Nobody explains this thing despite it's importance. I actually like to accelerate with C analog stick up and so boost with B since they're close together. Pushing the B button or any for acceleration is sorta stressing.

What's the AX Controls option? It's locked for me, as is for you

Better late than never... it's an option for steering wheels - it requires you to have one plugged in. Like the Logitech Speed Force, for example.

I know this was AWHILE ago but i recently obtained a Homebrew Mod on a original Wii with Gamecube roms on it. When i loaded and started playing Fzero GX the control with joystick turning seemed way too sensitive than i remember it being. Even when i adjusted the meter to max speed. So i followed your tutorial and it appears the turning sensitivity has gone down but when boosting at extreme speeds (about 1400-1600KM with Blue Falcon) i tilt the joystick slightly and i go off a cliff like hurdling meteor. What is that "Deadzone" you speak of should it be why im fine without boosting then skyrockets to unstable turning while boosting. It could be the rom or gamecube controller but i wanna hear any suggestions or explainations you may have

Never heard of speed based controller issues, don't know how to fix that.

well i think turning speed increases along with your main speed right? that's probably what's causing it
