Quick way to open stuck Samsung remote to change batteries

It is very hard to open and change batteries of the Samsung remote. After watching a lot of videos and experimenting, figured out a way to open the remote with a butter knife. Please be careful to not hurt you or break the remote.

Don’t do it like what he’s showing. There is a Much easier way. Put the remote between both hands like you are praying 🙏. Then push your hands in a bit and pull one hand down, and push one up. It will pop apart easily. It might not slide all the way apart so just repeat the same process…

Wow!!! I was panicking! A brand New Samsung TV and this is how I start by practically braking the remote trying to get it open to put batteries in, how ridiculous and there was no way I was opening it with my thumb pushing up by the arrow symbol. Thank you so much!!!

That is when you should have returned the tv. Mine came with the batteries already in the remote. From now on the remote will be the first thing that I check after buying a new tv. If it is a bullshit remote like this one the tv will be returned. Something you should have done.

You legend! I was totally frustrated trying to open it. In the end, out of fear for my hands when using the knife, I put on rubber work gloves and the extra traction allowed me to open it quite easily in the end, without the knife. Thanks a mil

They DID change the design. The battery compartment opens easily. But now the buttons are so F small, I can barely use the damn thing.

I tried, but found that MY butter knife blade was still too thick. I used one of those very tiny screwdrivers used on the screws in eyeglasses, and THAT worked!

Butter knife did not worked that easily, cheese knife worked and that also we had to move the knife around the remote. there was no visible amount of dirt, but it felt like remote was glued. as soon as we opened as you have said, its opening up with no difficulties.

I've never seen such a tightly snapped casing since the old Armake21 FEAR 2 video where the regular game case was super glued to the collectors edition packaging so it was impossible to open without permanently damaging both in some way.

Thank you for sharing how to open battery compartment. Very poor design by Samsung and only clue in Samsung’s directions was to push direction of arrow which did not work. Had to insert knife in the thick/big end as shown in your and others post on KZbin.

thanks for your video. I bought a Samsung sound bar and no way could I get the cover off the remote. I had to use steak knife in the corner and it popped open. They need to change their remotes as we should not need knife to open. Thanks again, video gave me the courage to attack it with a knife.

Thanks for the tip. I dropped mine in my coffee and wanted to dry it out. Oops, won’t open. Grrrrr I couldn’t get a butter knife in but a screwdriver worked. It was good to know it was supposed to open easily. All is good now.
