I pay the credit card bill online before our business receives a bill. The credit card is used for a variety of expenses. We do receive a paper bill later in the month that acknowledges the online payment. How do I properly enter this into QB at the time since I cannot itemize the expenses at the time?

You just post the payment in the CC account. It may show a temporary credit in Qb until the expenses are posted but that should be fine

Is there not a way to select the liability account it is assigned to? I have sub accounts in AP. I guess the only way to do this is through journal entries…

Sorry , what if a bill is with GST?

It should still be the same but I’m not sure if you have to report GST separately on your tax reports for GST paid. If you do then you would want to separate that out.

You don’t bill vendors, you receive bills from vendors

@@QbuniversityOrg sorry if i'm testing your patience but i still didn't get it 😂 We are entering bill that received from vender and there are also fields to select customer/ job, class, billable. I don't understand their purpose in bill section. Do you've other tutorials explaining it. Thanks for your help

@@attiafatima9096 you can leave those blank. You only fill them in if they apply to a job and you want to track the expense or you want to pass the expense on to a customer if it’s part of their job
