I have learned and grown with Hector Garcia. His teaching, which is straightforward and transparent, has helped me understand various situations and lessons. This guidance has allowed me to reach my current level of expertise. I enjoy working with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise and am knowledgeable in both bookkeeping and hosting on that platform. I belong to an accounting and bookkeeping firm called SAAB. Thank you so much, Hector Garcia!

I appreciate you articulating the sadness some of us feel seeing the "death" of QuickBooks Desktop! I started with QuickBooks in the 1990s when it was the DOS version! As an Enterprise expert, ten years ago I thought QBO was the stupidest idea Intuit could have come up with. Fast forward to today .... and I'm loving QBO for small business owners ..... but I'll always be attached to Desktop after so many decades of working with it.

I'm a retired accountant who still uses QB Desktop-2019 for my personal "books" and budget. It still works just fine. Is there another application I could eventually migrate to? I'm not interested in paying QBO a monthly fee. That's crazy for a single user for personal finance. Or Question #2 is there a subscription based application where I can merge my data so I keep my history, with a sensible monthly cost for a retiree on a fixed income? The budget feature is very important to me, for forecasting my expenses and keep myself on point with spending. If one ever un-subscribes we no longer have our data correct? That is a big downside to me, for historical purposes such as researching house upgrades etc. That's why I like the single user laptop based application. Thanks Hector.

Intuit getting very cocky and seems like they are beginning to ignore their customer base.

I think they feel their customer base is not only QB Online, their Desktop business is not what it used to be

@@HectorGarciaCPAagree , I just always go back to companies like RIM who didn’t give their customer base what they wanted. Intuit is alienating accountants who have been with their desktop program in many ways, especially by attempting to poach clients. They may succeed but they also may be opening the door for someone else to come and fulfill the loyal bases needs. Time will tell.
