Hello to all my friends using QuickBooks desktop for their contractor business or construction company. This video starts the process of setting up jobs for contracts that you have under each customer. Any 1 customer can employ you for several projects that may happen at the same time. Each of these projects have a separate contracts and you can set up jobs to track the income and expense by each of them to see how each job is doing separately from the others. I hope you will “like” and subscribe! -Mark

How do you set up a budget for jobs? i.e., the hours you expect the job to complete and the amount of materials for the job? So when you add employee hours to a job and material invoices to the same job you have a report showing how well you are doing on the job. If you are making money or losing money.
@worldwidequickbooks2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Reno, Yes to BOTH!! First, I have a video for profit and loss by job. It's #10 of the whole playlist.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3uYgIKulLOii7s I suggest you watch the playlist IN ORDER so everything will be clear. Secondly, I do have a video on the budget feature but I did not use "by job" as an example. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKOlgX6VbtFompI I suggets yoy watch this video first, then do it on your quickbooks but as you create the budget, click "by customer/job" when you set it up. Check them out and let me know. -Mark

My jobs for a particular customer aren't indenting. Why is that?

Look carefully how you click You have to make sure you already chose a customer and then make sure you click add job not just add customer

I have desktop. I just started a granger credit account (no card). Is this a liability, or a credit card account? How do I record transactions in the granger account and record payment for credit charge?
@worldwidequickbooks3 жыл бұрын
Never heard of "granger" before. If it's a credit accouint then yes, it's a liability like a credit card. If it behaves the same as a credit card then you can make it a credit card type of account. Here is the playlist for that; #8 is the one you want. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5OskKaDfpeNfrs

how can i remove a job from a customer but still keep it active?
@worldwidequickbooks4 жыл бұрын
Thank You Amber, Yes, Re-open the customer center and double click the job to open the "edit job" window. In the top right, you can change which customer the job is with. If you want the job alone, create a "dummy" customer just to transfer the job to. I hope that helps and I hope you will clcik "like" and subscribe -mark

Quickbooks has the absolute WORST customer service. And they are constantly trying to reach into your wallet. I finally gave up on them.
