Awesome. Thank you very much. I will now order one for my BMW 340i 2022 model. The car has no dip stick. BMW say oil change in 20,000 miles or 2 year interval. What ever comes first. I change my oil every 5,000 miles. Therefore I have ordered a Quickjack so I can get under my car and change the oil every 5,000 miles. I live in United Kingdom. Thank you for your demonstration.

When using the supplied liquid thread sealant, or Loctite 545, let it cure for at least 24 hours. or they may leak. Teflon tape can get stuck in the quick-connects and cause a leak, too. That's why you always start at the second thread.

@@JsAutoDetailing Yeah, I have the factory leaf springs on mine. My truck has a 3" RC leveling kit, blocks in back, new knuckles in front. I do have quickjack, it's kind of a hassle to set up, I don't have a lot of garage space (We Never Do). QJ works Great on my C6 and CR-V but the Silverado will take some thinking because the way the frame goes up to the bed and the gas tank location. Aaand I still put jackstands or blocks under tires when using the QJ, especially if I'm going to be completely underneath the vehicle. My project on my truck coming up is control arm bushings (they Creak), new Dirt King alignment cams and new springs to try and get rid of Chevy Lean. Maybe put steal braided brakelines all the way around and air shock in back...Truck's got ~40K miles on it and Zero rust (I live in the desert).

For the slow drop, even with the vehicle on, did you pressurize the air cylinders?
@F.E-j2i
@F.E-j2i Жыл бұрын
I have the TL and I'd say it's ok, but only if you're lucky and get one without a defective air cylinder. If you do get one of those you're screwed - the company will 100% not stand behind their product. They'll claim the air-assist down isn't "necessary to the function of the lift". Really? So if one side has air assist down and the other doesn't, and they drop unevenly, that's safe? And then when the vehicle drops to the ground and one side of the lift goes straight to the full down position while the other... doesn't. You need to wait... and wait... and wait for it to drop with no weight on it. Quickjack will claim this "is normal operation" and that "it will get better over time". If you invest a massive amount of time trying to get them to stand behind their product they will, eventually, after burning through every once of customer goodwill, send out a new cylinder. Yay! Until you get the replacement and the freakin' air side is literally capped off. Like intentionally made unusable. That's not a fix guys. Then they'll claim that the engineers decided the down-assist wasn't necessary and that they've changed the design on future models. But I didn't buy a future model with less functionality. I bought the current model with exactly the functionality I wanted, was promised, and paid for. Whatever. Too much time wasted on it already - I've written off the entire company as another skanky marketing hack with no integrity. I still have it in my shop, but the company worked very hard to make me regret my purchase and it low-key pisses me off every time I look at it. And honestly the setup is inconvenient enough that even when I do pull it out - warts and all - it happens very rarely. Only when I have a longer term project where I know the vehicle will be on the lift for a week or two. Definitely not for things like oil or tire changes. It's just way quicker to use a floor jack.

Hello J! Can you use the QuickJack to lift your side-by-side / UTV? Will it fit between the wheels or is it too long? For some reason I can't find ANYONE using QuickJack with UTV's. HINT: You could be the first one to make such a video. I want to buy a QuickJack for my zForce 800ex UTV, but I don't know if it will be usable.
@JsAutoDetailing

I used it to lift my General. It's actually the first thing I tried it out on when I first got it. Being that mine is a 4 seater, I was able to fit the Quickjacks lengthwise between the wheels. You can also turn the jacks horizontally to lift as well. As long as they are parallel to each other it would work.

Hi… i just got the 1 inch casters that you had in your link. I wanted to ask how these casters are holding up under the weight of the vehicle and jacks? Thanks!
@JsAutoDetailing
@JsAutoDetailing 2 жыл бұрын
I have the casters positioned so that as soon as they start to lift the vehicle, they are no longer holding any load. Once the lift starts to move, they are off the floor. The casters are soley used to move the ligts back and forth on the floor and slide into position under the vehicle.

I wanted to buy one myself but then I found out there's lifts that go higher up (1 meter), are much more sturdy and cost the same. The only thing is that you can't just put them away as easily, but you can drive over them every time and so leave them where they are. So to me there's not really a reason for the Quick Jack anymore unless it was at least 700 bucks cheaper.

I like the idea of these, but for the price, I wish it would raise more than 22" or so. That's still the very minimum it takes to get under the car on a creeper. I would use it on lower cars, including a c3 Vette, so I'm not sure how well it would go over, or if the rails would be safe for the lift. Thinking about it... but unsure if it would provide the necessary room for the work I would wish to do.
