Whether it's the new GoPro Hero 8,9,10,11 (The GoPro Hero 12 unfortunately doesn't have GPS) or the Insta360º I'll show you how it easy it is to Overlay Gauges using your Cameras internal GPS. I'll show you how to quickly enable GPS on the camera as well as how to edit and add the Overlays with the Mobile App. I will also show you how to use a Desktop App, called Telemetry Extractor to really get the most out of your GPS Data.

Very nice! Telemetry Overlay is free to try, but the full version is a highly recommended purchase (the creator is an independent software developer in Spain). I have been using it for months. The pattern files can be saved so that all the gauges and overlays show up in exactly the same place every time you load a new video and then your saved pattern. The GoPro Quik stickers are not aviation-friendly. In my tests, I found the GPS to be very reliable, and the altimeter to be reliable once in the air. Unfortunately, I do not know how one can calibrate the transducers inside the GoPro. The turn coordinator and inclinometer extracted from telemetry are a mess when the airplane is on the ground. However, it should be remembered that there is a sampling error in these "virtual instruments," which can partially be compensated by changing the rate of sampling in the software (though I did not find this to be very effective). The virtual airspeed is OK -- probably the most reliable on a calm wind day. (PS - The C172 airspeed indicator is a quick mod. Also, the initial long loading/optimizing step can be safely skipped according to the creator.) You made a video on slips a while ago where you have a wireframe routemap of the airplane in different attempts of the slip. Did you use Telemetry Overlay for it, or did you use something else?

Will TO place stickers on 360 videos? The Insta360 Studio does stickers to reframed videos like GoPro but doesn't do it to 360 exported videos......yet.

I also use telemetry overlay on my Mac, from the same company. I've set up a pattern for my aircraft so that I don't have to keep adjusting the V-Speeds on the airspeed indicator

@@Bananasssssssss Yup, click on the "Patterns" all the way under "Add Gauge, and you can do "Save Pattern" and "Load Pattern". You have to load the pattern for each video you do. this is with telemetry overlay. Since I fly 2 aircraft (Stinson 108-1 and Socata Trinidad) it's useful.

Hello JOE. Have you done any videos yet on how to shoot some basic videos from inside and maybe outside the plane with audio. I’ve watched about 10 different people so far and I’ve even done one and figured out how to sync everything, but it was such a pain that I don’t feel like doing it again. I wonder if you might be able to explain a slightly easier way For a normal guy to record his flight even if it’s just for personal viewing. It does not need to look as professional as some of yours.

That will be great. I almost wish there was something that would switch automatically and have a multi cam video with audio done by the end of flight. My buddy had a fighter USA business back in the day and they did that in the analog days.
