@ 2:00 If you pay attention to the tire size I entered, you note I entered 102 for the wheel diameter. I got a garbage recording and had to repeat the test drove, sorry for not re-recording a new setup screen.

What a surprise just got tires and developed a vibration. Wait let me buy some more junk instead of looking to see if a weight fell off

This is the cost of price shopping. Statistically speaking “Lowest bidder does the worst work”. It’s not true for all though, there are a few good places out there

Did the guy who replaced the tire not noticed that big ass bent… 😭or didn’t stop and question “hmmm why is this asking for so much weight”

Most of these high volume discount tire stores don’t stop to check these things; because there’s 20 cars behind them. I have a coworker that worked at a tire store and. Was always told “we’ll handle it if it comes back” Most of these places don’t test drive the car after work is performed.😟

Very neat video. I like that you have all sorts of tips and tricks to narrow down your diagnostics! Quick question; what are your thoughts on the Harman Kardon audio? I’ve noticed the speakers tend to blow out easily on my Crosstrek… do you replace many at your shop?

Thanks for feedback, I really tried to make this a 5 minute video but got a little carried away. So about the speakers. When a manufacturer says "premium" sound system, all they're saying is "this is the best we can do, with respect to the budget of the vehicle". Meaning the manufacturer is not going to sell a lot of Crosstreks with $5000 sound systems. I really do not like how misleading the "Premium" sound system is advertised. I do see a trend of blown speakers and subs on our speaks, and it's always on the Premium sound system. Customers buy premium because they want to crank the music, so the can feel the bass. Unfortunately the speaker coils do like to be drive at high levels for an extended amount of time. I have done some experiments and the results were interesting. The Premium sound system is nice and has good power. The problem is the vehicles do not have a lot of sound deadening. I helped a customer with a 2022 Forester dyno mate is car doors, and hatch. He wanted to also do the floor and sealing but the labor was too much for him. Just dyno matting the doors and hatch made a huge difference in sound quality and road noise reduction. The customer told me he was running the radio on level 23-ish and not is never goes above 17-18. Everytime I get the opportunity I bring it up to subaru that we need "dynamat kits for our vehicles". I understand that it's not everyone's jam but to sell it as an accessory is beneficial to a lot of consumers.

@@baja-automotiveThanks for the reply! I’ve noticed Subaru seems to lack in the NVH department but I will say they’re starting to improve since using a global platform on their newer vehicles. I’ve noticed that on the door metals they don’t use any sound deadening materials compared to other brands (Germans), that use it to help reduce vibration under heavy audio bass, and general vibrations. Depending on the models, some barely have any of that Cotten/fabric material on the door card and that helps with reducing NVH. I couldn’t agree more with the speaker setup and how Subaru advertises it to the consumer. They say it’s an 8 speaker set up but I counted 6… then when you begin to read more into it the speakers are a two way system to they count 2 in 1. I’ve blown two speakers (door woofers) and I try my best to not listen to loud music and turned down the bass. They’re also very pricy to replace once out of warranty… 😅
