I love this effect but once I purchased my Airbrush I was able to prime with Vallejo Gloss Black, then Airbrush Vallejo Metal Chrome then Airbrush Pro Acryl Transparent red. it gives the exact effect so much faster but I never would have thought of that without starting here

@@minimaurader3916 I went fairly cheap and got the Iwata neo nice basic brush very simple to use a friend of mine gave me his old compressor I don’t think I’ll go back to just brushing again

Great video. Do you have a list of alternative paints to the 3 mixed tones? I understand that this is a recipe that works for you, but having to buy new paints and basically 2x in the case of the mixed tones seems a bit steep.

Great Question at the moment I do not and would have to look into it further, I find this recipe quite involved because of having to brighten some of the mid tones up with various paints. you can give it a try without the mixed tones if you already have the basic colors, will turn out slightly different but still could be good.

I feel like this video would be more accessible if you were using citadel colours tbh. Most people looking to learn how to paint warhammer better (and I’m aware this technique can be used on many kinds of miniature but you specifically used a space marine back in your thumbnail) are probably using citadel colours, as most tutorials use those?

I do use citadel sometimes but AK has the right color's for copper imo

Better Idea don't ever use citadel color's because the paint is both at best below average and the most expensive shijt you can buy

I actually appreciate paints with descriptive color names vs fun crayon names, just in case I need to find them somewhere else than the citadel line lol

​@@TypausZuendorfCitadel paints are not the cheapest but not the most expensive either. I like them a lot. I don't get why a lot of people hate Citadel paints so much. Never had an issue with them besides white and grey which didn't flow off the brush good enough. In my opinion Citadel also makes very good black for example (better than Vallejo for example). The only thing I dislike about Citadel paints are the pods because I use a wet palette.
