I never realized how incredible Skid Row were lyrically. I always thought they were just another Hard Rock/Hair Glam Metal band. They are soooooo beyond that. The 3 ballads in this album are all perfectly written, the lyrics are poetry, the voice is… wow, the emotion on the guitars. And they have other kickass Metal songs like Slave to the Grind, The Threat, Monkey Business. This album really turned Skid Row into one of my favorite bands despite only liking their early material. Ps: they are so much better than Guns N Roses, like I love GNR but they never had this lyrical power and they weren’t as Metal as this band. GNR was pure Rock N Roll, I feel this band is closer to traditional Metal than rock. They remind of me Judas Priest

I'm not religious anymore, but in the 90's, on lsd, this song did unbelievable things to my psyche. Another thing, I saw Skid Row at the OKC State Fair this year, 2021. New singer is good. Mostly I was impressed by the personable message that the band put out to us fans. They like what they do and it shows in their attitude. And if they come to your city buy a ticket. You'll be glad you did. Their setlist was perfect, with good songs you may not have realized how good they were before. These guys rock a crowd well from the time they begin until they walk off stage. Then, if you weren't impressed enough, wait a few minutes and you'll hear an acoustic guitar. And then you float in warm Quicksand and know what it feels like to be Jesus.

This is such a beautiful song, both musically and lyrically, whatever our personal views on religion may be. If you are here, it really should be because you can appreciate the artist(s) expression. This type of music was not always known for lyrical depth, so whether the song is about a crisis of faith or a rejection of it, it still stands apart.

Not gonna lie, i want no part of anything religious, my deep rooted views are against it so strictly that i dont wanna listen any song that is even slightly about faith. But how could i dislike song like this? It would be my loss. Hard rock bands and such dont get enough credit when it comes to lyrics. Theres much more substance than people think if they dont really know the lyrics.

Maybe the most profound metal song ever written. When my wife "HAD" cancer, the lyric, Our faiths out shelter from the cold. i took this to heart and made my faith in God stronger than my fears. God stepped in and cured my wife 110% . To all the idiots who dont believe in God. Your missing out on things you cant even understand because of your lack of Faith. May God Bless you. He sure has blessed me beyond words every day. Changed everything i know to be real and fact. Fact is, Trust in Jesus....

You don’t have to be religious to like this song, I’m not. The song is not telling you God is real, it’s telling you why people believe in him. It’s a deep song about struggling with faith. Whether he exists or not, believing helps people go through stuff because it offers comfort. Some people would not be able to go through life without it. That’s the point of the song

GOD said that on this Rock He would build His Church. Sorry Sebastian, but CHRIST is the Rock. He certainly is not quicksand. I hope that since you wrote these lyrics you've learned the truth. Crying out to something that is sinking sand is the exact opposite of what we have been given in JESUS CHRIST. To those who don't agree, I will continue to pray for GOD to wake you up to.
@sekatsim64329 жыл бұрын
Basic SMG So I assume by your comment that you've met "GOD" in person or dream or shape or form or vision or fantasy or dillusion or physical manifestation of "HIM"self? You must have for you seem to be well sure and aware of "HIS" gender. How would you know "GOD'S" gender? How do you know "GOD" is not a hermaphrodite? Or an asexual being? Or a woman? Really, how would you know? Was it because another human being who has never met "GOD" told you? Was it in a book written by human beings who'd never met "GOD"? Do you know that under the law in our "GOD" fearing Christian country "GOD" would be guilty in any court in the land of being an accomplice to numerous child kidnappings, rapes and murders along with other countless atrocities against humankind? If your "GOD" who must be a man, (for you yourself have given "HIM" a gender) has just sat by and watched these atrocities be committed then "HE" is surely guilty of doing nothing, or maybe the unthinkable for you is the real naked truth: "HEGOD" is the one committing the atrocities "HIM"self! Like a sick child who tortures kittens and puppies just to watch them suffer like jobe. (I spell it with an e, my choice) and gets a sick, twisted pleasure from it like so so many of "HIS" sick, twisted children throughout history that "HE" made in "HIS" image. The real tragedy is that rational, thinking, pragmatic people like me and many others have to suffer the idiocy of millions of poor fools such as yourself who follow the words and ideas placed before you without reason, question or thought as to the utter silliness of them all in the name of the fear that you will simply cease to exist and that you will be irrelevant. That my poor disillusioned friend is nothing but ego and fear incarnate and all you have to do is open your eyes to the real world in which you live, we all really do only live once, no seconds, so you might wanna uncrank that "JESUS CHRIST" sphincter muscle and relax, life's too short. Just f.y.i I'm a red-blooded heterosexual man. born in the good ole USA raised going to Sunday school and church every week, it just turned out that i was capable of independent thought and reasoning and living without the fear of nonexistence. P.S. The famous "face" on mars is actually Jesus, that's what the song's about. That's where he went after the bunny laid chicken eggs on his sarcophagus.
@2beerbuzz9 жыл бұрын
Basic SMG I think what he is saying when he says "quicksand, jesus i'm so far away without you" is that he is losing faith therefore sinking in quicksand and calling out to Jesus in realization that as he sinks he is indeed in need of Christ
