I think only someone like yourself & character could have really done a Nick Livesey book justice in the review stakes.... and only someone like yourself would have gone to those lengths and inconveniences (standing in front of walkers/kayakers n tooting trains) to such great effect :) Great review Greg and having leafed through it this morning I can concur what a fabulous effort Nick has put into this book - well done that man & well done you. Now, get him on a vlog with you, would love to see that collaboration :)

Thanks Alan, I tried to make it more than just a simple sit at your desk review. As for having him on the channel, well, the problem with that is his weekends are Monday and Tuesdays whereas mine are Saturdays and Sundays. It makes it difficult...but, never say never ;)

I picked up a copy on Friday whilst in the Cafe but not had chance to read it properly yet, it smells great and definitely passes the sniff test though. Nick is an interesting chap to speak to, nice little gallery there too. There has been a need for a book like this for a while, I only live about 90mins from Snowdonia but the biggest thing I struggle with is actually deciding on a location, then just panic on the day and end up somewhere shit, this book is going to be a great asset in preventing that I think.

Lovely book - saw it today in Cafe Siabod. In fact all the Fotovue books are great to have - they get you to locations you never even knew existed, and then it's great to take time exploring around them for your own individual take on the area.

Yes Mike, they really are quite invaluable in a lot of circumstance. Witness Tom H had to use one in the Peak District recently.

Great review. Will be using this when I go up next, great excuse to get out and see some viewpoints! Great to see the typical weather of North Wales!! haha Watched a video on Nick's background and keen to experience his favourite locations. Quick question, what are the key differences between this book and the other fotovue North Wales book? Understand it's probably location, but is it the same style? Like best time of day/year etc
@GregWhitton5 жыл бұрын
Hi Luke, glad you enjoyed it. Key difference is this focuses on mountain walks whereas the other book is more about traditional roadside/valley locations. Having said that, Nick also covers a few lower locations too.

@@GregWhitton Thanks for that. Maybe I'll look into getting both of them. Shame your discount ran out so long ago!
