It's exist but, real in the sports, 'cause you're not fly high. But we learned the Gabramakox' University's Quidditch, is legal in the UK of Universtar.

Why they stoped using broomsticks? Now it's just a weird handball game with players carrying sticks between their legs..... :(

ArcanusHawrett you'll see a lot of amateur teams still using actual brooms, but in the more competitive teams the bristles of the broom can be quite sharp and lots of players have ended up with quite bad scratches and cuts as a result of not only another players but their own brooms. As you can see, quidditch is quite high contact so it made more sense to forego actual brooms for the safety of the players.

Well quidditch in HP is also really dangerous sport. :D I still think that broomsticks make the quidditch. Simply because that is the only thing muggles can copy. They cannot fly, have no real golden snitch or blooders (not sure how's called in English). And short stick makes the sport even more weird. :D

ArcanusHawrett Fair enough, it does look fairly odd. I suppose with the intent of working to make it into a legitimate sport without people associating it with Harry Potter 'nerds' or 'fanboys and girls' (a silly opinion, really) they had to remove that part. It does lose a certain bit of novelty but adds practicality. On another note, I am now wondering as to whether any Quidditch players from Harry Potter got injuries from broom bristles...

Hmm... Be honest I am "Potterhead" Also as a small kid I've imagined myself in the role of good quidditch player like James P was. xDD So that's why I have this opinion. Anyway they could not call it quidditch just because They using same amount of balls and three hoops on each side. It has nothing to do with safety, or practicality. Brooms are basics of this game :) Also they can use different materials for bristels. Make them soft, like a brush hairs for example ;) Or They can use protection like in Half-Blood Prince movie :) Well they definetly got much more than scratches... ask J.K.R about it: D

ArcanusHawrett we still call them brooms, it just slows down the game and is impractical to have bristles on them

Ireland has one team based in Dublin called Dublin Draiochta Dragons. There is one University team in Belfast also. Hope this helps! :)

WTF am I watching muggles playing Quidditch or am I trippin'?

Well, how do the beaters really work? All points count as 10 and snitch as 150 or different balls have different points? I am a great enthusiast of HP, but I have never really understood all of Quidditch... How does the snitch and seeker work on this Muggle version? :p Basically: What are the roles of the beater and the balls and how does "seeking" work? :p Could you teach me it? Besides, do you know of something of this on Portugal or you wouldn't know?

Gincal Arthas snitch is a person unaffiliated with eiher side with a tennis ball attached to the small of their back, the role of the seekers is to grab it, there's various other rules for what count as a clean grab. as for beating it works a lot like dodgeball and theirs 3 bludgers between 4 beaters (2 on each team) a beater with a bludger can beat out opposing players who have to return to their hoops in order to continue playing

Jesse page because they play a sport that came from a book? They're way more athletic than you'll ever be and they're not insecure about what they like which you clearly are
