Showing the same image with light and no light was a really good comparison to understand light.

Oh man that landscape is so other worldly ... the raking light along those pocked boulders is amazing. My wife thinks I'm mental because I want to trade my new-to-me truck for a camper van and sleep by the side of the road and take sunrise photographs! 😆

What an unusual landscape. Not only is this completely unique, the measured approach is so methodical you can literally feel yourself there almost making the same decisions yourself. I love this vlog. Its just amazing how you can instill confidence in any and all terrains Adam. And it was hauntingly beautiful. Thank you for sharing this experience with us.

You talked about doing film photography again a few months ago. I hope you still dive into that again. I don't do film, but I do enjoy watching artist on KZbin that do film photography. Just a few time a year would be perfect.

Your post process of images are always well done. I do like the second image done in the morning in raw more then the one processed. But that is just me. I like the contrast of the dark rock. Keep having fun.

I always enjoy watching your videos. I can imagine that it's a big effort of setting up everything for filming. And it's sad to miss the best light because of that. But you still got some nice pictures. I usually try to be one hour before sunrise/sunset in the area that I want to photograph. I wouldn't want to get up even earlier for filming. Thank you, that you're are doing that.

Visited to Hornby Island in about 1996... a magical place indeed... great to finally catch of glimpse of Karen and the van modifications too... great comparison images at about 3:10... once again I always appreciate seeing the transition from the RAW file to your processed image... I was going "Oh Wow" as you walked out in the early morning... sooo many interesting lines and patterns... I attempted to freeze the video at about 12:37, because I really liked the pano crop without the sun/sky... just the water and rocks.... Thank you!

Thanks Adam, this stuff is inspirational, beautiful location once again... The pocked marked beach rocks reminds me of sandstone... The light & shadows on those rocks was like night & day... Side note: My Sunwayfoto GH-Pro II gearhead arrived in ( 2 ) days, it is sitting on the roll top desk & it is beckoning me to put it to work! It will sit atop a leveler which is attached to my ProMediaGear 42mm CF legs... Bill on the Hill... :~)

Great video Adam, beautiful photographs. Reminded me of my afternoon today spent on the shore of Lake Windermere, UK. I’ve been experimenting with manual mode and Liveview on my D810 - mixed results mostly as I didn’t get very good light (too overcast!). Still good to be out in the fresh air though.

You had an ocean visitor! At 7:30, a seal raises its head just above the two small rocks half way between you and the left edge of the frame; the again at 9: 20 just to your right!

Nothing but smoke for a 200 mile radius! The Eastern Sierra and high desert have been a bust for the entire summer. Thanks for the pics of the coast. At least someone has some clean air. Using “legacy” Konica-Minolta gear, with some classic Minolta glass. Also using some vintage Russian lenses with interesting results. Thanks for the inspiration

Hey Adam, I've always appreciated the way you walk us through the scene and how you explain your mind set and reasons for the composition. So helpful. And on a side note. If I sent you $40 would you go get a hair cut? I mean for crying out loud man (haha).

Wonderful images, given that was a 100% "Uncle Grumpy" vid !! - "I got here late, water is too high/low, filter not strong enough/is too strong, rocks keep moving, clouds are wrong etc etc - Gavin would be well impressed with such moaning. I am worried now that in a few years time photography will turn me into a moaner :( Compositions were very interesting and your mantra of "Its all about the light" is proven in your outstanding images. Be happy in what nature gives you, there is no such thing as perfection.

That first photo would be awsome sent to a company that takes files and blows them up to 8 ft tall by whatever. Then you get wall mural and cover suitabe wall. Expensive, definitely.
