Somni Rosae, thank you so much for a delightfully informative ASMR video that has perked my curiosity! This explains a lot! Everybody thinks I'm just a grumpy guy ... well, yeah that too! (LOL) But when you mentioned that you 'need to get away to charge your batteries' - my eyes and ears went to full attention as those were my exact words, spoken to so many extroverted friends and family! Thank you for giving me my own Ah-Ha moment!

Omg!!! Another introvert found!!! I’m so happy the video helped you. Us introverts are always misunderstood. I believe the sooner we learn we’re introverts, the sooner we learn to navigate these social waters. ☺️🙌

I have your book! Whoohoo! It’s on it’s way to me and I can’t wait to read it 🙏🏼 Thank you for this beautiful video 💜 I am an introvert but one who is able to extrovert quite easily, an extroverted Introvert and it’s absolutely exhausting! I get so much joy and energy for being with others but only the right ones for the right amount of time. It’s a balancing act as I’m highly empathic too 🤦🏽♀️ we live and learn! INFP over here! 🙋🏽♀️ I love you Somni 😘😘😘

I love you too Emma! Thank you so much! I hope you like the book. I am waiting on your audiobook, which comes out in November in Canada!!!!!! Yay! And sounds like you have the best of both worlds: introversion and extroversion. Sending you many hugs!!! ☺️🥰💕

Thank you, thank you, thank you Somni. I think you have voiced what so many of us experience. Introverts can be seen as snobbish, moody or even emotionally immature...people are so ignorant. We are not all the same. What you said makes so much sense.

Great video! Wonderful and insightful information. "Quiet" is an excellent book. I took the test (INTJ here and it was right on the money!). Once I learned what an introvert was I realized it was (is) a gift! Thank you Somni for sharing your experiences and this information.

The amount of times throughout school years that friends would get angry at me because I would go quiet and sort of trail off from the group... I could never understand why I would start feeling depressed within group activities. They would say “You’re just looking for attention. You just didn’t have the attention on you!” I wanted the opposite! I don’t want attention. I want to be left alone sometimes. My husband doesn’t understand it either. He’ll think I’m angry at him for some reason. I’ve understood that I’m an introvert for years now, but it’s not any easier because you just cannot explain this to an extrovert. They cannot fathom craving alone time or spending time by yourself. It will always be a struggle, BUT now I know I’m not a weirdo. I just wish I could find friends that are the same. I’m an American living in England now and I find that so many people (at least in my husbands sort of society) want to have company around all the time whether for a cup of tea or just a visit. For me, mentally, I have to prepare for this. I feel that if I go and meet up with people somewhere other than home I do much better because I know I can switch on to public/social mode. When I’m at home I find it difficult to switch over. Thank you so much for this video!

I was always considered (and considered myself) an introvert. However, I was diagnosed with high-functioning autism in 2016, so I guess that takes my introversion to another level. I have plenty of friends, but I choose to see them infrequently and preferably on a one-to-one level. To be honest, I’m happiest maintaining contact via text message or on Facebook. I’d rather be at home with my cats and a good book too! 🤣 I’m married with a 10yo daughter and she also has high-functioning autism and I suspect my husband does as well. He’s from an Italian family so he’s very much the odd one out because they’re so outgoing, wanting to be the centre of attention - extroversion, I guess! His mum doesn’t ‘get’ me at all, even though my husband is very similar to me, she just can’t (or, more likely, doesn’t want to) see that he’s so different to her. I struggle with spending time with people who aren’t comfortable with silence - when they chat non-stop about inconsequential things (small talk, I suppose!) it absolutely exhausts me trying to engage with them. I’ll definitely check some of these books out, along with yours. Much love from the UK.

When I was 13 years old I had to go to a psychologist cause I had my very first depression. And the main issue was that I was being bullied and I felt that it was completely my fault cause I knew that I wasn't like the others. I'm not saying that I'm an special snowflake or anything, just that whilst my classmates liked to be around people and hang out a lot and talk all the time, I liked to be home reading a book or just being by myself; I was content with only having one friend if I knew the friendship was true and sincere. And everyone around me told me that I should go out more and have more friends and it made me so sad because I wanted to be like that so badly but at the same time I knew that I wouldn't do it, that I couldn:t. And that I was okay with that. And I felt so bad for realizing that that i started to hate myself so so much I, well. I mentally collapsed. 13 years later, I still feel bad and guilty sometimes of the way I am. Even though at the end of the day I love my friends and how I interact with them. Thanks for sharing your story, really. Es una bendición saber que una no está sola. Muchos abrazos desde España.

So relatable! I've always been an introvert, but I didn't know *why* until recently--just got diagnosed as adult ADHD. A lot of my constant exhaustion and need for recovery (despite liking people) makes a lot more sense now. Good luck to all my fellow humans out there who need their recharging/defragging time! There are a lot of us... :)

Im an introvert. I cant be around a group of people for very long. Because it does drain me. Im not very talkative. Not because im rude. Many people are quick to judge. They call introverts "Rude" "Ignorant" but in all reality they don't understand. I've been through alot, and now I suffer from Anxiety. People need to learn about Introverts and Extroverts. Instead of assuming. I lost many "Friends" but, gained a few who're just like me. Introverted. Thanks for the video, Somni. 💜

Why is it that introverts grow up thinking there's something wrong with them and not so much that extroverts do? Do you all notice that not so many extroverts question whether there's something not right with them? The truth is that there seems to be more extroverts in the world than introverts or introverts are so quiet that they are not known as much. There might be just as much introverts as extroverts for this reason. Anyway, extroverts for the most part do better in the world because they are more accepted by the world. Introverts will always struggle to be like extroverts and will always be in competition with them. I feel this because I am an introvert also and understand the struggles that they go through in life.

That’s a good question. Maybe the more people know what introversion is, the more introverts will know there’s nothing wrong with them 😌
