I installed 3.7sq M of dynamat in my hilux from the front firewall to the rear with 100% coverage but ran out of product and money :) looked for a cheaper option and found car builders which is less than half the price! Used on the rear wall and all doors and made the doors solid! I found better than dyna for going over ridges because the aluminium doesn't split like dynamat. Just installed a 800watt sub on the back seats and literally at 10% power (80w) is enough to shake my house and shed, I give most of the credit to deadening my car.

Grest video. But you could have done a quick sounds test before the padding and then after the padding. I would love to know how much decibels were reduced over the stock padding

I have a 2021mazda bt50 gt 4x4, so mid range, , its 2 months old new from factory, I feel its a bit noisy but I'm comparing it to my Audi which probably isn't the best comparison, just would like to get advice as to whether these utes come well insulated or not and if you guys do the insulation can it be as quite as my car. Also I find it odd that it comes with partial moulding in the wheel wells🤔

Very impressive. I love Toyota 79 series vehicles. If I may ask, if money is of absolutely no object, could you take a Toyota 79 Series Landcruiser to Audi/BMW (flagship models A-8 & 7 Series) level of sound deadening ? They are really quiet.

Thank you Gustav. There is a lot that goes into making a vehicle quiet, when you compare the body on frame construction of a 79' series compared to Audi A8 your comparing apples with oranges. Take the 79' its a body on frame construction only a few more decades evolved over the raw Defender, shaped like a fridge, yet robust with its live axles its built for harsh environments and tried and tested! Compared with the Luxuary A8 which has some aerodynamics it has the taken all the learning over 100 years to be passenger friendly and perform on sealed roads. The extent of NVH on these vehicles is refined through suspension bushes, shock dampening, engine mounts, flock lined wheel houses, multiple variations of foams and rubbers on seals, doors closures, window glass and even noise cancelling built into the audio systems to cancel out certain frequencies. Given unlimited money and time you could achieve a result with compromise to the vehicles capabilities, in reality you can take a raw vehicle like the 79' and turn it around into something that is more pleasurable to drive with a couple of days effort.

I am considering a stage 3 detonator package. However, just would like to ask what is the decibel difference range before and after install.

Hi Wilson Tan. We find that this number can vary greatly depending on the make of the vehicle, motor, tyres, snorkle, roof racks etc however we find that results of between 3-10 dBs are achieved, the higher range when tested on dirt or rutted surfaces. (Remembering an increase of 3dB doubles the sound intensity but a 10dB increase is required before a sound is perceived to be twice as loud)

What do you guys do in relation to spraying a rust proofing spray on the inside of the car? Do you spray first then stick the sheets?

Hi Daniel. Yes, you do need to be cautious if using cavity waxes as they are designed to repel liquid and will limit the ability for adhesive products to effectively stick. Where you are directly placing the deadening sheets, if the panel is rust free then the butyl base of the sound deadener will form a water proof barrier as water won't be able to get between the sheets and the panel.

Thank you for the feedback Mohammed. We have been weary of these tests with installs due to varied conditions when testing compared to customers vehicles (different vehicle, tyres, road surface, accessories- roof racks etc) Maybe we need to include this regardless.

Thank you be be 👍 Yes, we have included this testing in other install videos, however we are mindful that it is very difficult thing to complete a controlled, standardize test and we don't want to be misleading when people install on their vehicle (the quality of the road, type of tyres, roof racks, wind etc) In other vehicles we have tested we have had results anywhere from 4db to just over 10db (remembering an increase of 3dB doubles the sound intensity and a 10dB increase is perceived to be twice as loud) The greater results are when tested on dirt roads.
