The factory vinyl is usually molded to fit the contours of the cab. When you pull it out it's generally not a nice flat template you can simply cut around. If you try to do so, you'll likely end up with an underlay which isn't quite the right size from the template moving as you try to cut around it.

You know what would be spot on as a consumer, is if for example what you have done here with the floor liner. Once all the cuts were made you laid it back out and made a template for each section with the cuts. Would save time on install and most people would probably pay that bit more if a template was included in the kit.

Having done the doors and rear quarter planes and rear door the difference is amazing. A 200 has very little sound deading, I think the less brick shape is about all its got better sound wise. The doors do have foam blocks. The difference is night and day just with a layer of stage one.

Hi Scott. With the Stage 1 Sound Deadener it doesn't need 100% coverage. The product normally just abuts but it can overlap. What is the reason not to add a foam and vinyl layer to the doors? Great videos thank you for the production
@carbuilders15 жыл бұрын
a Masonite door card does not allow for packaging clearance to hang a sheet of mass loaded vinyl, if you removed the water proof plastic membrane behind the door trim you could possibly package the MLV. We tend to find panel resonance in the outer door skin is the main issue with this particular vehicle. In reference to the foam placing a patch of acoustic liner directly behind the speak with help soften the back wave and offer clearer sound from your audio system.

@carbuilders14 жыл бұрын
Hi G. The butyl layer targets panel-generated sound. If you are doing dirt/offroad driving it will be very noticeable. The second stage is dealing more with external noise such as droning/road noise and acts as a decoupling layer. This video is a good one to explain the stages kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmXcnX6vpL6Spbc

Quick question what's the before and after in terms of the sound drop
@carbuilders13 жыл бұрын
Hey mate. There are so many variables, the road surface you're driving on, whether or not you've got a snorkel, the tyres you're using, so it's really hard to give you an accurate reading on that. What we can say is that in the testing we've done with a dual cab Land Cruiser, we've managed to reduce 12dB on an unsealed road, which is perceived by the human ear as halving the volume inside the vehicle. Measuring the dB reduction can sometimes skew results as the dB measured is always going be at the peak frequency. In some cases, even though our insulation made a dramatic reduction, being at a low frequency the dB reader may not reflect it. Good luck with your project.

Yes, both Stage 1 and Stage 2 in this video can be used over a gear box. Stage 1 will stop vibration and Stage 2, droning noises 👍

Us Aussies were the the inventors of the ute.Why do we want to be Yanks and call a ute a truck? I own a truck. Its not a ute. I own a ute. Its not a truck. Be proud Aussies and own a UTE.

What UTE did the Aussies invent? The Jeep? That's a Yank design. The Land Cruiser? That's a copy of the Jeep. The Land Rover? That's a British design based on the Jeep. What did the Aussies invent again?

These products will capture and smoother heat, however you will always have best results treating heat issues by using heat shields that externally face the heat source. www.carbuilders.com.au/underbody/heat-shields/
