Big L was a really good dude with a good heart.I once met him on a humble on Lenox near 135th, and I was a lil tipsy and he asked if I was aight and then told me to go inside, because I was in no condition to be on the streets. I will always respect and appreciate the human decency he showed me that night. He could have responded in a few different ways, but it is when nobody is watching and we are by ourselves that our true character can be recognized as the greatest representation of ourselves...R.I.P my brother! He was not a casualty but should be an example of how far things can go when you fight with your brother over dumb shit. Sometimes our egos lead us to a humility that cannot be accepted until it’s too late to be humble enough to check ourselves and apologize. It takes nothing to swallow your pride, but everything to try to protect a reputation, that in the end don’t mean shit. Which is why our fallen are on the walls in murals, not named after streets, stores, or housing projects that some lost their life to represent and protect. Peace to all brothers and sisters trying to make their way in life for none of us may have the answers,...however let us begin to set new examples of what they might and can be for our children and future generations.

Black people ARE the ORIGINAL humans in this universe, on this planet! We ARE the TRUE representation of god, humanity, peace and civilization. Remember that! I would like to assume (and I dislike assuming things btw) that most if not every rapper during the 80s and 90s acknowledge that especially east coast rappers. And if you don't believe that then good luck on surviving the uncertain future we're now living in! #Black1st #BigLRIP #RestInBeats #BlackMenIsGod

Man it's still such a tragedy to picture one of Hip Hop's most influential emcees literally was murdered on the brink of greatness. Even with all the stories now coming out of Big L's street ties, it's still an absolute horrible story to think of. The murder itself was actually very gruesome. Then when you consider circumstances like damn it's very grim. Broad daylight, 9 shots to the face and chest. Years later, his brother and nephew are killed all behind that. Big L rest in peace! It's an interesting story. Search up the rise & fall of the NFL Crew.
