I did the math on this one. In the movie the wagon rides away for 70 seconds, top speed of a horse drawn wagon is 15 mph. If he is able to travel at this pace the entire time his max distance would be 1540 feet or 513 yards, much shorter that Quigley had done before.

@TheGrenadier9717 күн бұрын
This scene isn't entirely plot armor if you think about it. The first was the henchman that feared the rifle, so makes all sense that he took it as a cherished prize. That they forgot to look into Quigley's boots that night also makes sense. The other henchman ran on a straight line because he was in fear.

This was the one of two flaws in the movie. why would the boss “Marston” let this ranch hand guy have this one of a kind custom rifle, cartridges, and cowboy hat and not keep them himself? I know though. Just to come up with a reason how Quigley got his gun back, of course.
@TheGrenadier974 ай бұрын
Plot armor of course, but making guesses, Marston was definitely a revolver guy; in the bucket scene he was surprised by Quigley' skills but surely kept the notion that his rifle was just a complex novelty. As for his cronnies, i don't remember the sequence exactly, but i can see the ignorant accomplice just picking the rifle because it was a long gun to go out in the plains and was just handy nearby after beating Quigley.
