Thanks so much sir. this video is a winner for me today at the office. I can't really express how happy I am right now

Hey Tony, I had exactly the same problem you had with a slight topping to add. My two GWN7630 had different firmware so even your working way was not giving me any success. I had to configure the new slave first as a master, do the firmware upgrade, do a factory reset and then follow your procedure. Finally success! Thanks anyway for the good video!

Great video Tony. I really need to pick up a couple of Grandstream APs. As much as I'm happy with my Unifi gear, it's great to have a second option for customers.

Thanks for tuning in Jeremy! I’ve been a huge fan of Ubiquiti gear. I have all of my customers on Edgerouter/Unifi stacks. However, I’m digging the GS APs as of late and I’ll be putting them in my new home in lieu of Unifi. Btw, they are pretty affordable. You can grab a GWN7630 for between $85 -$100 depending on the vendor.

Thanks for the tip on NOT playing around with the Slave account of your new AP. Just let the Master AP discover, connect and setup your Slave by itself. Btw, crazy how the video shows white lights the whole time when you actually get blue and purple lights off the APs.

Hi! Thanks for watching. Glad you found the video helpful. I think part of it is that I use an overhead light for the top down shots, probably making it difficult for the camera sensor to get accurate color on the led lights. Just a guess…

Your video saved my nervous system. I faced the same error when AP shows offline status. Thanks to your video, I will not make a similar mistake on the client's site, where the points are already mounted in height and it will be problematic to reset them.

Hello Tony, thank you for your video. May i know why you are configuring 1 as master and the other as a slave? We have 2 Grandstream GWN7630 devices on two different floors, is it suggestable to have them configured this way? thank you.
@QuikTechSolutions Жыл бұрын
Hello Olawale Fabiyi. Thanks for watching. If you setup one AP as a Master, then the rest as Slaves, you have the ease of managing all APs from within one interface.

@@QuikTechSolutions , thanks alot Tony for the swift response. Please i have a few questions 1. I also wanted to know, what is the limit to number of clients that can connect to each GWN7630, i have been seeing 200+, is there an exact limit? 2. Also, can i increase the ip range for clients? 3. Also why do some clients not able to connect, it keeps saying cannot connect using this IP, i am guessing the Q2 above is the issue. Thank you so much again
@QuikTechSolutions Жыл бұрын
200+ is the advertised amount from Grandstream. Keep in mind this all depends on the environment, so results will vary. Because of these variables, there really isn’t an exact number. Not sure what you mean by extending the IP range for clients? Are you asking if you can add more IPs to the DHCP pool? That would depend on your network configuration.
@olawalefabiyi3396 Жыл бұрын
@@QuikTechSolutions thank you again, apologies for getting back here late. I was thinking because of the IP range, if the users grow more than the pool, then the issue might occur
@QuikTechSolutions Жыл бұрын
That would be something you manage on your router.

Hi, for some reason my smart devices are unable to connect to a grandstream ap, i have 2.4 enabled, tried disabling 5 to try but nothing worked so far, any ideas?
@QuikTechSolutions3 ай бұрын
Hello, thanks for watching. I haven't experienced this issue. I currently have over 60 IoT devices connected. Try creating a dedicated 2.4 wifi SSID for just your smart devices.

Ciao Tony, I have a dumb but interesting question. Can I pair a Master on LAN1 with a Slave on LAN2? The idea is to have a fall-over scenario. (What would be a solution for this setup)
@QuikTechSolutions Жыл бұрын
Hello Mike, not exactly sure what you’re trying to accomplish. However, if you pair APs, you can access SSIDs on different land by using vlan tags.
@FreeTheUyghurs Жыл бұрын
Excuse the ignorance but how are they operated when "paired"? I'm only familiar with standalone and meshed access points using other brands. Does it do anything beyond providing you the status of other APs from the master AP?
@QuikTechSolutions Жыл бұрын
No worries. They function like any other AP. The benefit of pairing is central management of all settings from one master AP. So for example, if you have 3 APs, you can make changes, add SSIDs, remove SSIDs, change power settings, radio settings etc from the master, then the master pushes those changes to all APs on the network.

I really want to use GWN Manager, but it is not stable for me at all. Only once have I been able to update one of my APs. tied the 2nd one, failed. Does not matter which methos I use. Neither updating from Grandstream's site nor having the firmware from the GWN Manager's software. Very frustrating. I even spun up a new CentOS7 VM and installed the latest version GWN Manager. GWN Manager and the APs are on the same subnet, but no way would it pair up. From the web interface for the WAP, I asked it to transfer to GWN Maganer, I gave it the URL for it. It opened a new tab in the browser and nothing else happens. The 7630s are a great workhorse and just work.

Hi Andy, I use the built-in controller on my GWN7630 to manage my other APs. If that’s not an option for you have you tried gwn.cloud?
@andymok79452 жыл бұрын
@@QuikTechSolutions I am using the built-in controller right know. I don't care to use cloud based systems to manage my local equipment. Thanks.

It looks like you're not daisy chaining them... Did you plug both of these into the same router? Does it matter if that router is Grandstream?
@QuikTechSolutions2 жыл бұрын
Hello Stevenswall, thanks for watching. Both APs are plugged into the same network switch. Does not have to be a Grandstream router. In this guess, I was using a Ubiquiti Edgerouter X. Have a great day.
