Quill leaving behind the fuse in the super alloy cave box was so on par. Had iron and titanium in his inventory, but nope! I'm leaving the most expensive item in the game behind! LOL

​@@larrywooters8635 Nah, it's Heat Fuse, I checked and it's tooltipped for split second. Still silly to leave it behind and forget it forever for a chunk of Iron. Because ofc he's gonna forget.

Quill: I'm going to launch two of these rockets back to back... Me: Yay! That's great on its own but he can get uranium and iridium! Quill: Then what I'm going to do is go hunting for where to use this warden's key (while completely ignoring the asteroids). Me: Nooooooo!

I was disappointed that he did two Iridium rockets instead of one of each, but i thought it would at least teach him the value of summoning asteroids. But then he left for so long that almost all of the Iridium had despawned by the time he got back 😢

It won't de-spawn until you quit the game, or at least it's really long. It's some of the random asteroids that have time limits (especially the super alloy one). He's full up on Iridium though, and there is very little use for it outside of a little for explosive powder. Can throw down more heaters, but he's AFK'd so much there really isn't much to unlock from them anymore. Eventually he'll be full up on Uranium too once he realizes he unlocked the nuclear fusion power plant (he STILL hasn't noticed it) and there is pretty much no use of Uranium outside of rockets until you can craft Pulsar Quartz. Uranium rods become extremely common in chests as you move along.

He has miners set up. He has literally infinite Iridium and Uranium at this point. The asteroids aren't worth the time to pick up at this point of the game.

@@SilimSavertin He has a single T2 Ore Extractor in the Uranium mine. (And when discussing building a second one it sounds like he's thinking of putting it in a _different_ mine instead of next to the first one =P) But it's only T2, and he's not checking it that often, so he's only getting 5-8 uranium per visit and those visits are few and far between. He should be launching Uranium rockets for the boost anyways, and each drop would probably give him the equivalent of at least three trips to his current mine setup if he bothered to pick it up.

Item Description: "Makes food faster." Quill: "I wonder why there's a T2 food grower. It must have some secondary effect..." lol...ah man, you gotta read the descriptions. Most of the confusion you have (like with how the efficiency machine only affects a limited number of machines nearby) would be cleared up if you paid a bit more attention to those descriptions. :) Then again, it's part of the charm and entertainment of your content too.

RE: Autocrafters -- Don't forget you have the recycler available. Anything that gets crafted can get UNcrafted.

When you mouse over a booster, it clearly marks what it is buffing with a glow and a big arrow above it.

About the T2 food grower: You will need so much Fertilizer, and for that you need egg plant and squash so a food grower that is faster wil make your life a whole lot easier.

Well at least he _finally_ discovered he still had tier 1 Flower Spreaders lying around. Maybe someday he'll make the same discovery about the flashlight chip.

Quill, could you please look carefully at the meteorite landing sites? They're not all base metals, especially the ones you call in using a rocket and the ones that colour the sky weirdly.

@@captain_loeffel _Eventually_ he'll realize he was in the Super Alloy cave and come back. "Have I been here before?" he asks? I dunno, no way to tell i guess other than opening up the map and checking since you have the map chip now =P

Quill, while this is a spoiler... it is often found in the early game. (see below) Along the rockwall behind the back wall of the escape pod, there is a small decontructable wall, where you will find the remains of one of the previous people there and some free stuff. To find the wall you must have "deconstruct" chosen.

1 very useful thing an autocraft could do is make uranium rods next to your uranimum mine and same for iridium.

Not until you have T3 miners, but at that point in the game you don't really need either rod anymore

@@MTGeomancer He missed Fusion Reactor, unless he stumbles onto it, he's stuck making Nuclear2 forever (and face it, there's excellent chance he never gets it, unless someone takes pity on him, and superchats a hint during some stream - he only made more rockets because some good Samaritan told him to during Pacific Drive stream via superchat). Taking that into consideration, the hint to make autocrafter in Uranium cave is super valuable, but again, he's not reading these comments, so....

you can just place flower or tree spreads together for max eficiency. it wont look nice specially for trees, but it does work. tier 2 food grower is not a big mistery, it does what the description says "grows faster"

Once I placed couple of T3 Tree spreaders next to my base and slapped plant fuse optimizer for good measure. Soon, most of my second floor base got obstucted by branches clipping through floor and sides. Guess moral of this story is, don't make forests adjacent to the place you live in. Especially Bamboo. Anyone else remember that episode of Mythbusters?

The Autocrafter can be helpful for very late-game production (with Drones and T3 miners), but the only thing I use it for in the mid-game is Superalloy (as you suspected would be useful). Crafting time is so fast, it's not much use for low-count crafting.

Actually, 2 autocrafters in alu biome can craft rods forever, at least in theory. In practice they get stuck because of some mats missing, but it means significantly less oversight is needed.

They are also great for crafting mutagens and fertilizers, or basically anything else that requires slow growing food/algea as an input.

@@Flanor As far as I can tell, algae actually grows pretty quickly. I've been watching other content creators trying to automate Bacteria Samples and it's water that they quickly run out of.

If you need more ice, you can put water in a Recycler. Because you can make water from ice at a Crafting Station, and the Recylcer reverses that recipe. It seems weird - but it works.

It's less strange than putting O2 capsule in and getting a bunch of metal. Or putting bag of Fertilizer and getting perfectly healthy Eggplants and Algae.... And I could go on, let's just admit Recycling Machine is BS and move on....

Quill check the machine optimizer, it has a limit as to how many machines it can work on. You also unlocked the fusion generator which makes stupid amounts of power and didn't realize it.

Technically the Auto-Crafter obsoletes the Biolab as it can produce anything that the latter can. Spoiler: You don't need to disable the big orb if you don't want humans on the planet.

the auto crafter allows you to build items without having them in your inventory straight from the storage "If they are within the range of the auto crafter"

Edit: Never mind, see he's behind on the plants it's still way locked. It always pays to setup a bunch of what new tech you have... and then go on another exploration trip while they run.

quill, it dosnt matter where this stuff is placed. you can even have 10000 plant spreader on top of each other and it will still funtion normal. dont bother with the range. only range to take account for is the one from fuses

Nothing in the game collects raw resources from the ground. The Auto Crafter grabs items from storages, crafters and machines that produce items. The drones only collect from storages and crafters that you set up the supply/demand function for (which unlocks with the creation of the drone station).

Autocrafter can grab Larvae off the ground tho.... I guess it's debatable if those can be called raw resources....

Not yet, besides it's silly to stick Uranium into something clearly labeled "Fusion" and expect anything good.... If those were labeled "Fission" that would be another story.

He has a mutation item. Can plants be mutated into insects?

No, once Insect Phase starts, unmodified Larvae will spawn all over. Those can be mutated into smth usable in Incubator. Some ready made usable insects spawn in certain biomes too. However, O2 plant seeds can be muated into Tree seeds.
