That was fun Jean! I have made 3 QAYG quilts, (not enough space). I made and quilted all the blocks first, then joined them all together using sashing strips on the front and back. It was very handy, because I did not have enough fabric for the backing in one piece, so it ended up as a checkerboard backing. I liked them all very much. Very fiddly getting my head around the sashing bit!

Yea, I long time ago I think I used the silicone spray "Blaster" ~ either from Lowes or HOme Depot (In USA). I didn't use an actual expensive supreme slider, but a less expensive version of.....didn't really like it. My machine bed is slippery enough I find.

I had to add a blade to my last Dresden plate also. Used a 1/4 inch piecing foot. I don’t know what happened. I am trying to figure out how to finish a Dresden plate like that that could be washed. I put a circular back on it but it did not quite cover the raw edges on the back of the blades. Does anyone have any ideas?
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory 4 жыл бұрын
So you pieced the dresden plate and then put it (appliqued it?) onto a backing fabric? If you blanket stitch the points around the edges of the plate you will not have any raw edges. Does that make any sense?
