I learned this method on my very first quilt. I made a throw for my mom. Had it bound, ready to gift, and she mentioned she needed a new king size comforter for their queen bed. Off came the binding, and on went borders. Luckily the throw was almost exactly the same size as the top of the mattress, and the borders look like they were planned for the drop! A really good technique to have!

I really love the fact that at the end you said you could do it to add on to a short quilt or one that someone has just outgrown. I had thought about this before, but never attempted it because I thought well that’s got to be wrong or somebody would’ve done it by now. I should’ve tried it, but now that you say it’s OK, I guess I will!

I really love this video. I am a very beginner quilter and quite daunted by the whole quilt sandwich thing. I have sewn a couple of quilt tops together and they have turned out bigger than Ben Hur size. Consequently that's as far as they have got and will probably stay that way now. Will give this QAYG method a go as it makes so much more sense. I LOVE your colours and layouts. Thanks from Australia.

Not only does this quilt help us get rid of scraps that we never knew what to do with, I feel that this will be great fun and help me develop my quilting skills, as I’m not very advanced, because it helps me with the ‚3D-thinking‘ as I like to call it. And it’s doable and will look good even if it’s not 1000% perfect, that’s the fun of the pattern. Thank you for the useful tips Madame😊

My question is about the quilt right at the end of your video when you talk about the recepient having a growth spurt. I love the scrappy look of the quilt, I think you just put random sized and shaped pieces of fabric together. Did you make a standard size block? Could you explain or is there a video you did on that quilt ? Thank you!!!

Why is the backing fabric and batting cut ½” wider.? With the method you demonstrate , you would assume that the front and back fabric would be cut the same size, unless you assuming that after quilting, the back fabric and batting shrinks. But if you use the fusible glue, it should not change size.
