This quilt ended up reminding me of the Small Stuff quilt, which has been on my mind so much! The way you took tiny images and bordered them until they became sizeable blocks was right in that same tradition.

What a cute quilt! This gave me a great idea for a juvenile panel I have. I spray baste my quilts with 505. I spray baste on my sheet covered dining room table in my dining room that has hardwood floors. I never have smelly fumes or sticky messes on the floor. Anyway- I love your quilt! Thank you.

In this case, binding it with the same blue as the sashing makes good sense because if there were any contrasting color, I think you would lose the visual equality of the sashing on the outside to the sashing between the blocks. It would be a strong distraction instead of a finishing touch.

This turned out super cute! I like how you talk out your thought process. I maybe would have created a binding using all of the accent fabrics, however, that would have shortened the width of the outer blue sashing. I think you probably made the right decision.

I stumbled upon your channel yesterday. Am enjoying you. I wanted to comment on your Aunt's quilt that you are repairing I can't find that video so I will post it here. If you brew some strong tea and put the material that is too white or too bright into the tea the tea will stain the material with a light tan color. The longer you leave it the darker it gets. Rinse the material, dry then iron. Now it looks older and fits in with the 70's materials. Hope this helps.
@mostlyquilts13863 жыл бұрын
Welcome to the channel Velma! I’m glad you found me. Thanks for the tea tip! It reminds me I’ve still got to get to that quilt and mend it! It’s on my to do list.

It might be worthwhile to set it out on a white fabric so your husband could see what another white border would look like. I agree with you that it wouldn't go, but it was sweet that he was trying to help and if you showed it to him, he might see that he doesn't like it either, but that you considered his suggestion. Probably too much work to do. I love the quilt, though and I also really enjoy hearing your process. Thank you for sharing!

What about black as your binding? I always think a little black sets it off. There is black on each dog.
@mostlyquilts13863 жыл бұрын
That’s a good point. I have a hard time with black. I rarely use it but it could be great with just a touch of it!
@judithjanes57383 жыл бұрын
Use the red/white polka dot for your binding! All the white in your blocks would make a cream-color surround look dirty. PLUS... WHERE does one grab/handle a quilt? Along the outer edges! Terrible place for a light fabric unless 1. You want to be washing it on the regular, or 2. It's for wall display only.
@keepmeaccontabletam11363 жыл бұрын
Did you sell the quilt ? I have several practice quilts I made that I am going to donate to a nursing home this winter
