Quilted Tote Bag Tutorial| Beginner Friendly Quilting Project| DIY Tote Bag| Quilting

Hey, guys! Today, we're going to make a quilted tote bag! This simple tote bag tutorial is perfect for beginners and lots of fun to make. If you've never made a patchwork tote bag before, this is the perfect video for you because I walk you through each step of how to make a tote bag.
Sew three sets of five strips to create the outside blocks for the quilted tote bag. Each set will have three red strips and two yellow strips.
FABRIC REQUIREMENTS:
9- 1 3/4" x WOF strips (red fabric)
6- 1 3/4" x WOF strips (yellow fabric)
2- 18 1/2" squares (bag lining fabric)
2- 18 1/2" squares (batting)
2- 34" long straps (or 30" if you want shorter straps)

This bag looks so cute but do you need the batting to make this purse? Is there something else I could use cause i dont have any at the moment.

Sure! You could use different types of interfacing, fleece, or flannel for the “batting”. However, it’s good to note that the structure of the bag may be different if you use a different type of batting. 👍🏻

How do you get such a good line with your Hera marker, I swear I’m pushing with everything I have and can barely see the line 🤣

It’s all in the wrist! Haha! But seriously, I think it’s probably the angle that I hold the Hera marker. You’ll get the hang of it! I try to apply the most pressure near the tip of the marker.

What batting do I use

I like to use 100% cotton batting for bags because it’s thin, yet can help give the bag some structure. My personally favorite is Pellon 100% cotton batting 💖
