Just got mine. WOW! I've owned in the past or still own early JTM45s up to JCM 2000s, '64AC30TB, Many of the Fenders from 52to 72, Gibson's, Bruno,and lots of others and this Quilter is a revelation. You really have understand that the controls are interactive and very powerful, but when you learn how to dial it in, its killer. It compresses just like a tube amp and the dynamic response to picking pressure is something else. It's areal step forward.

? The power range up to 200 Watts seems to be sales hype , or can this amp produce strong clean tones ? Thanks

@@marshallohio5512 It's definitely not sales hype. I own the head version of this amp. It's crazy loud and powerful. I have never been able to turn it up above roughly 120w on the master dial because it's so loud.

I recently gigged (Blues / Country Rock ) with a new home built amp head. The Amp was a completely fake tube head conversion. Everyone was totally blown away by Amp performance. Several other band's guitarist were asking questions, and freaked out when I turned amp head around. I was playing through a Quilter Mach lll with a TC Spark clean boost in effects loop with a TC compressor and EQ in front. I built a single button floor switch for channel switching. What a total blast I had !! Plans in using another Quilter Mach lll in same in four amp voicings !! For now, I switched between Plexi and Vox settings. Love 😅

I'm still on the fence. Maybe they don't need to be tube to sound good but maybe they need to be tube to sound great. Having said that, the vesatility, low weight and ability to sound the same at various volume levels is very attractive. I'm going to try one.

@bb_lz9790
@bb_lz9790 3 жыл бұрын
Probably because it's a solid-state amp. However, I suspect that all you'd need to do is turn the Speaker Volume down to 0 watts and adjust the direct out's level with the Signal Out control.
@arprtr
@arprtr 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can. There are also separate master volumes for the speaker out and the di out. You do not have to disconnect the speaker to silence it, just turn the volume off to the speaker.

it comes with a switch if you order an amp and a switch. I mean, you can complain about an amp that it doesn't come with the switch. others will moan that they can't buy the amp without it. I think Quilter is being flexible offering it separately.

LOVE my Mach 3, best amp I've owned hands down. It's light (I just carried it up two flights of stairs with one hand without switching sides). The different settings are wonderfully varied and each is amazing. It's tough to choose which I like best. The reverb actually sounds great. The distortion is great. It's incredibly powerful. Looking forward to my foot controller and an extension cab to kick this up another notch. Speaking of which, can anyone please suggest an extension cab? I expected there to be a Mach 3 cab like the Micro Pro extension for the Mach 2.

Yes these are great sounding and versatile amps but why TF do they put the controls on the back of the amp. When your at a gig and your amp is behind you and want to make a tweak on your amp, how are you going to easily see the controls? Especially if you have the amp tilted or up off the ground. Just pet peeve. Form over function? Design flaw? Comments?
@daddaladda
@daddaladda Жыл бұрын
and so there we were with the controls on the front... and everyone seemed to complain that they were pointing forwards... unless they were tilted up. There is no good solution that satisfies everyone except a detachable head. So we did that too. On the bright side, you can still find older Aviators out there that have controls on the front, so this isn't totally out of the question. ;)

After watching this, I am thinking several things. First, I could ear RJ play all day, honestly man, I don't know if you have released an album so far but I want to ear more. About the amp : I already own a ToneKing Falcon Grande, which sounds great but cost me a kidney and ruins my back every time I need to take it to a gig : the Quilter costs at least half the money, weights at least half the weight, so what ? tubes amp are for rich, purist heavy lifters ? I don't know, but I am serirously thinking about selling my Toneking (and my trusty Quilter Micro Pro Mach 1) and purchase this one. I think I can't go wrong !!!!
