Awesome video and settings. Getting back into my quilter Mach 2 8 inch combo after a few years and these are the best settings I’ve tried in a while. One thing to note is I had to use the foot switch to make your suggestions work. Thanks again.

I've had the Mach 2 regular 12" combo for 5 years now. I thought it was pricey at the time, but I have no regrets. Easily the best $1000 I've spent on gear. Never breaks down, consistent sound, works amazing with all pedals and guitars. Can get crazy loud. I don't think they're as good as tube amps at really high gain tones, but for cleans and medium gain tones, they are incredible amps. I'm never parting with it.

@@markotomic7021 Yes, still use it quite a bit. Now they have the Mach 3, but I have no reason to upgrade yet. Love my Mach 2 to this day, it works amazing with my fuzz pedals and Strat. For high gain I use my Mesa Boogie.

You are the only person I've seen play this amp and make it sing. I think most people are not putting enough volume through the speaker on their demos. You get a beautiful compressed crack which is my favorite tube sound

I am glad that you are not a tube amp snob. You were honest, even though you have vintage tube amps (as I do also) yet that solid state amp stood tall and may have out done the tube amps. I have done blind tests over an over with my tube amp snob friends and proven over and over and over again that although tube amps can be great. They are not top dog anymore. Technology has caught up and even passed them in many ways. Quilter wanted to bring the old school tone by using modern technology. He has done that. I have one of those amps too and love it. Great playing and demo. Thanks

Ozlo Houser On it’s own, plain and simple, The Quilter exhibits dynamics. Pick lighter and the volume is less, lower guitar volume and the sound clears up a bit. I’m not qualified to compare it to classic expensive tube amps.

I have had mine for a couple months now the head version. I never thought I would give up on the "vintage" amps from my era the 50's and 60's. This amp has changed my mind big time. It is more than loud enough for any gig I will ever do, inside or outside. Hook it up to your favorite cabinet and be prepared to be blown away.

Ford - I just saw this for the first time. Great demo, as someone who’s been using a Mach II 1x8” combo since the month it was released I can confirm it sounds insane with my vintage Gibson’s and Gretsch’s. In fact, this amp ultimately provoked me to sell my Tweed and old Marshall amps. The first time I plugged in with the P90 from my old Jr. slamming the front end I knew the days of my classic tube amps were numbered. I play in a trio with a heavy hitting drummer and bassist with an extremely powerful old Ampeg, and my Master has never exceeded 1 O’Clock. The other thing that blew me away is that you can hit the front end of these amps with boost pedals (I use a Catalinbread Naga Viper, their take on an old Rangemaster) in addition to the onboard boost functions. It seems impossible that a solid state amp would respond properly to that type of input, but it works insanely well. You can easily pull Blackmore or even Iommi style tones if that’s your goal. Thanks for this, man. You did the amp justice.

Had a 100 watt half stack marshall tube amp. Bought the micro pro and sold the tube amp. Can amplify acoustic, electric and vocals. Great amp. Also the di out into a qsc 12.2 or 10.2/FOH sounds great, then just use your amp like a monitor.

Great video, good playing and good tunes. What a great sound coming from that old...I want to say 50's style Gibson guitar, and that new Micropro 2 HD...WOW, it's just amazing. Honestly It's a little pricey for a solid state amp, but it just goes to show you how far they have come in sound and design. I was never a fan of solid state amps till recently (I have a few old guitars and amps that I love also) but then it seems like these companies are finally hitting the mark. They are getting close to, if not better, than the sounds that we all love as well as putting them in a lighter more durable format. And that with lots of effects to choose from as well. I recently purchased a Boss Katana MK 50 and I love it however, I might have to save my pennies and get one of these. Peace

Great demo of a nice sounding amp. I honestly think Ford could take one of those boxed gift sets with the beginner guitar plus 5 watt amp and make it sound good. With that said, this amp sounds first-rate. I really like the piece that starts at 3:17.

I have been trying to find one of these amps to try in person but they are very hard to find. I play in a large band with drum kit, lots of African hand percussion, bass, horns, etc. I'm looking for a great but light amp. My problem with every small amp I've tried is that they just don't move enough air stay clean AND keep up with the drums. Do you think one of these little guys would do the job? I'm looking to replace my Supro 1690T. Oh, and I like your playing, man. Rootsy but unique tone you have there!

That's an awesome tone, dude! I'm considering getting one of those. As I'm used to gig with a hotrod deluxe, which I'm getting old to be carrying it around, would you recommend the 12 Hd? I'm afraid to get one that lacks the lows that I'm used to, and my goal is the Quilter to be my main amp, replacing the hotrod, to play from jazz to BluesRock and the like. Thanks!

You’d make any amp sound good! But... tell me what’s the dynamic range is like? And with cleaner tones? I alway found SS amps to require 4/1 wattage ratings to hold up on stage. These quilters are 100w aren’t they? Deluxe is 22w... Does it cut through and sit nicely in the mix on stage? I’ve found some of the newer amps record real well, even great, but fall short when playing with a loud drummer and no monitor system. I really want the Quilter to work for me. It would make the next few months of my life so much easier.

Kevin, I wish I could but I live on an island and it’s about $200 just to make the trip into Vancouver to the only dealer I know of. I know what a Mk1 is like so I suppose that tells me it’s real loud.

Hey Bill, I too play a Quilter. I have a 101 Mini (but I think I'll switch to a Mach 2 some time soon). The 101 Mini has 50 and 100 watts settings. As far as I'm concerned I don't really hear major loudness differences between Quilter's ratings and my experiences with tube amps. For example with a 2x12'' cab it can easily hang with a Twin. I didn't A/B that setup but my impression is the Quilter is actually louder. On 50 watts it's comparable with a Bassman probably. And watch out for your speaker ratings otherwise the Quilter amps will blow your speakers no doubt.
