Blows the doors off every sub-$1K tube amps from China. You gotta get into higher end Boogies and stuff to even come close to the great tones you get from a Quilter. Not to mention the reliability and weight savings. It also makes a hell of a nice backup or practice amp. I love mine.

Awesome demo! Just like they should be..not any talking..we can see what your dialing in. I tried one of these today. I've been a tube snob since the sixties...no more! I love these amps!

I have this same one except mine is not the HD version and I love mine. It’s easy to carry and it sounds great. I can also sing through it. But when singing through it, is it perfect? No but it is certainly better than acceptable. It sounds great with my Taylor nylon guitar NS32-CE. And also my Chet Atkins country gentleman Guitar. The main amplifier that sounds fabulous with my nylon string guitar is the Mesa Boogie rossette acoustic tube amplifier and I sing through the Fishman loud box performer. However those two together along with a guitar are lot to carry around. So instead I use the quilter and it works real well. However I also sing through my TC Helicon Harmony GTX foot pedal that complements the quilter amplifier perfectly and makes my voice sound better. With that I get a really good sound. PS The TC Helicon footpedal is like you have a little minor professional studio there with all the correct additions to your voice including just the right amount of compression. It also keeps my voice in tune which is really a plus. And with that going through the quilter it comes out really really nice. The quilter is first class is real easy and light to carry so with that and my guitar and my little TC Helicon vocal assist foot pedal I have a great set up that sounds good it is easy to carry. PPS. I use only clean settings for my guitars. I don’t care much for crunch and the quilter does an outstanding job. But it’s nice to know if I ever decide to do a little bluesy break up with my guitars I can do it. All in all I think this quilter amplifier is a real classy winner. Ooohhhh I almost forgot. The tremolo is absolutly fabulous. I love it. Sometimes I add just a very little tremelo that’s almost imperceptible but it adds a beautiful musical quality to my guitar that makes my nylon string guitar sound like angels singing.

Very informative and useful demo. All completed without resorting to the obligatory and egotistical lead break!

Saw one of these yesterday at a show I was phootgraphing and the guy was playing a telecaster, doing country music and it was superb. I'd need switchable channels though and I hate having to rely on extra cables and pedals live, much easier of the amp can do it. I should imagine this would be a great recordin amp though.

I've been playing with the Mach 1 for years now, and in terms of channel switching (if you have the footswitch) you can have use the Limiter feature as a clean channel; the normal channel as your crunch; and the boost on as your higher-gain/lead sound. If you want even more than that, I also have run an overdrive or EQ pedal in the loop always on - hit the Loop button on the footswitch when you want to solo, and you're up and over the mix no problem.

Making a foot switch box for all these Quilters is extremely simple ! You just cut an end off a Cat5 cable , hard wire each wire strand of the Cat 5 to a single switch . Ground all the switches with the Brown wire of the Cat5 cable !

As much as I hate solid state amps, I'm actually pretty impressed with what I'm hearing right now. Still wondering if it can match the power and bottom end of my Marshal 1959 through a Marshal 1960 4X12 cab. Wish I could try one out.

Michael Barber So did I. I have a Bogner Shiva, the EL34 version - 85 Watts. I plugged my Micropro into the 1x12 cab. Short answe to your question “yes, it can”. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Looks are deceiving. I played a gig last night using the Quilter. The other guitar player was astonished a d said “it sounds like a tube amp”. He ought to know- he owns a 1959 Tweed Bassman, which he’s only brought to the gig once since I’ve known him, and a Tweed Deluxe (vintage). He’s owned them since the 60s, back when his band opened for Hendrix 😎

@@steveb9325 +1 on that; I have done street busking on the Mach 1 with the acoustic plugged into the TRS input and my mic into the XLR input. You'll need phantom power for the mic, but it easily gets the job done.

I'm sorry, but listen to your favorite classic songs and compare it to this amp. This amp will LOSE. This amp sounds like plastic. It does not compare to a real TUBE AMP. You will not make cool music on this little toy. Sorry not sorry.

@@45zapatero Yes, I saw a blues band recently and the guitar player was fantastic and his tone rocked my world. I asked him what his amp was and he said a "Quilter." I was totally fooled by his digital effects. I thought it was real spring reverb and analog tremolo and all tubes. But that was live, in a noisy bar, with a live band--and I was drinking. Bring that same amp home, by yourself, and see if it inspires you to write the next "Layla" or "Sultans of Swing." I'd put my money on a tube amp.

@@briancoyne6700 Well let's see... I own a pre-Peavey Budda SDII 18 that was modded a couple of months ago by Jeff Bobber himself, a Splawn Super Sport, a Friedman BE-50 Deluxe, and a Quilter OD200... I haven't noticed the Quilter to be particularly any more or less inspiring than the other three pretty primo tube amps. Sometimes I feel like lugging a tube amp to a gig. Sometimes I don't. Some nights, a Les Paul is my favorite guitar on earth, some night it's a Hamer Studio. Or a Jackson Soloist. Or an EBMM Silhouette. There's no set thing. It's just gear. I'll save you the detailed list of how many classic Stones and Beatles records were cut on solid state amps, and that's just two bands out of many. There is no "right."
