I make charity quilts for sick children. Your 3 yard quilts are the perfect size. I have all your books and just love them. I get so carried away with the fun of making the quilt tops from your patterns that I have to make myself stop piecing and finish them. I love seeing all the fabric combinations. Yes. My first was a baby quilt that I gifted and I don’t even have a picture of it and can’t even remember the name of the girl I gave it to. There’s been too much water under the bridge since that time.

Hi, my sister in law’s son and his wife just had a baby girl. So I asked if I could make her a quilt for when the baby is older. Her colors are lavender, turquoise and owls……do you have an idea what I could use??????

Can you tell me the top quilting ruler sizes/shapes one should have as they make quilts?

Hi! Yes, we love having a 6x24" rectangle ruler when cutting our fabrics as we use the strip piecing method and having a 24" ruler helps when cutting those large pieces. Another good ruler to start with is a 12x12" square, you could go bigger or smaller, but some of our blocks are 10x10", so we suggest something a little bigger. This will help when squaring our blocks and just an all around good ruler to have in your bag. Those two are great to start with when making our 3-yard quilts. Another one you might consider would be a triangle ruler, or something to help making those half square triangles!
