Beautiful! You should be proud of yourself for doing something totally different for you! And I like that you kept the colors in the gray family, which is not something us quilters often do.

I love it!!! Stunning!!!!! I'm going to make one too. My sweet mother just passed away on the 20th so I'm sort of busy making plans. She was an amazing sewer and cook. I hope to be half as good as her in sewing quilts, cooking, not so much. thanks April, you make me smile today.

I have to agree with you! I love my AccuQuilt! It is a huge time saver for me and I don’t end up with cuts that are inaccurate or unusable! I wasn’t able to join in the challenge because both my husband and I have been dealing with some medical issues and we both had to be in the hospital at different times over this past year! I have really enjoyed watching your series and am hoping to be able to work on this quilt in the new year!❤

The quilt came out beautifully. I think you would love SewTite Magnets for your Grace Frame, it’s much easier to load than the little tube.

Yes, I love using my Accuquilt. In fact, I'm making a Christmas sampler using the blocks from the 10 inch Qube this year. I also quilt on a 16X, but mine is only hand guided. Love yout quilt.❤

Love your quilt! I guild does a raffle quilt every year. My part was blocks with 2 1/2" HST! Like you, small is not my thing. However, the pattern called for us learning the strip tube method. It was very easy and very accurate. A few months ago, I bought the Quilt in a Day square up triangle ruler and it was a game changer. I not longer have an issue with squaring up!

What did you use to put hold your fabric on the back bar ?
@fransak27237 күн бұрын
Are you using the spline to load your backing? I have a Grace frame on my Juki longarm with the spline. I don’t use it. It never seams to hold very snug. I’d love to see a slower close up of how you load it. Thanks. Fran what is the name of the quilt design you used?
@proud2bktsmama7 күн бұрын
What is a spline?
@fransak27237 күн бұрын
@ have you ever seen how a screen is repaired? They use a very skinny tube which is pushed into a track holding the edge of the screening in place. My longarm has a spline (tube) which is pushed into a track and holds the fabric in place. I’ve not had great luck with it but I do love the concept. Perhaps I’m doing something wrong.
@aprilscraftroom7 күн бұрын
Hi Fran. I didn’t know the proper term for the spline. LOL. I called it the fish tank air hose. 🤪. And yes I use it. It holds tight enough to start rolling up my fabric but not so tight that I can’t adjust the fabric if needed. I will definitely show a slower close up the next time I do it. 😀. Thank you for giving the real name for it. The quilt design is my own. I am having the pattern ‘professionally’ written up from my pitiful attempt. I will share it when it Is done. April

How long total does it take to complete the quilting part alone?
@marciahowe95557 күн бұрын
OMG April! Baste the edges of your quilt down!! You are asking for trouble trying to quilt it without having the edges secured. You are going to end up catching the edge and ruining a quilt top or even worse, messing up the timing on your machine. Ask Di from Sister Chicks about basting the edges. I am sure she can help you.
