Seriously, are you a vampire that has lived for centuries? Because how the hell have you acquired all this knowledge on different techniques and methods. I feel like you show us something new in every video lol. I've said it before and I'll say it once more I hope you have an apprentice that all these teachings will go to so they can carry on your work for future generations.. or maybe I was right the first time and you really are a vampire haha. 🧛‍♂️

I think that after NAFTA was enacted and the Internet took off people just lost the skills. Nothing is "made in America" anymore and housing is so expensive that only the wealthy can afford homes. A furniture restorer would live in poverty. No kid wants to be creative anymore when they can work on Wall Street and get rich quick. Public schools even eliminated art classes 😮

I was thinking the same, C Duff and Siddi Gorsky. Since the Estonian Lady Leida has a different perspective lately -- and likely won't comment on Her wardrobe's "resurrection" and restoration -- I hope there're some Companions of Leida's Who remember it both from the 30s and after It, as All of Us tend to do, got a lil' bit wrinkled and dented and unstable at the joints while aging. The wardrobe is "aLive and well" again! And sill carrying It's historic delivery and train shipping markings. Surely, Those that knew It would be even more impressed than We are at the results of "the Master's hand". And thank You AT for the recipe of 50% acetone and 50% spirits -- under an absorbent pad and plastic -- to remove old finishes; "the Master's" Mind is even more impressive than His hands! 🙂 Rick Bonner Pennsyltucky

Thank You, first of all, for the video. I learned something interesting here: 50/50 acetone and spirit will lift shellac better than commercial stripper! As a novice furniture restorer, in my other life, I could've used the information you impart in your video's. I appreciate you expertise and ability to see what a project can be. Wonderful wardrobe outcome.

There was another layer of something that was very hard on the shellac, that is why we used acetone.

Simple yet elegant design beautifully given new life. I had a similar wardrobe in my bedroom as a small child. At night, a shimmering silver ball would appear from under the wardrobe and hover above the foot of my bed for several seconds before returning to whatever dimension it came from. It wasn't scary at all, rather comforting in fact. My parents never believed me ofc.

Hi Ahti! Thank you for taking the time to film this unique restoration...looks like you've had a fair bit of work on your hands with the whole set too...absolutely gorgeous - preserving our antiques for future generations❤ I have a question though about the 50/50 turps & spirit mix you pained over the stained surface - what was the purpose or benefit of this 'wash'? Is it to fill the grain or prep the surface for french polish? I've never seen this step before so I am curious to know why and when one would use it. Thank you for such great content!
