My wife and I are coming up on 6 months sober together. Having a partner makes it much easier as we have someone to make the journey with and hold each other accountable. Our relationship has become stronger, we’ve lost 80 lbs between the two of us, I’ve come off of thyroid and anxiety medication. Our family and son, most importantly, have seen the positive changes. We’re saving $100’s per month and have money for other things we want and want to do. We’re sleeping better, moods are better, feel better. There are no negatives of quitting; only positives.

They had way too much fun, stopped gulping the hard booze, spent a period of time not drinking at all, then returned to normal drinking, enjoying wine or beer, & carried on being quite balanced, successful people. They didn't need a "program" & they take a fundamentalist approach, unlike all the AA people I've known, who are rather ridiculous in their group-think, fear-based, secular religion fundamentalist dogma. As much as I like Anthony Hopkins, he is totally wrong about "keep fighting". "Fighting", "struggling", "battling", "gritting your teeth", and having a "death grip on the steering wheel", are ALL major roadblocks to sobriety! The majority of videos on YT about "not drinking" are completely focused on the wrong perspective. The goal is "SOBRIETY", not "not drinking", or trying to "quit drinking", or cutting back on "drinking". That is all garbage that needs to be incinerated. Alcohol is NOT the root problem, so stop focusing on it, and START focusing on "living differently"! Sobriety is not an intellectual proposition like a math equation. The solution is literally about how we move our feet. Some of the smartest people in the world have died drunk, because they believed they could "think" their way out of a fatal condition. It's total bullshyt! "Get busy LIVIN, or get busy DYIN". Those are your only options!

I’m telling all of you alcoholics out there…. Your doctor has medication’s that will stop you from drinking because it’ll make you ill if you drink. My wife used it and it works. The problem is these people believe that they can’t have a life without alcohol. The best thing you can do is get rid of all alcoholics in your life. They will destroy your life eventually, or they will just not pay attention to you and all they will do is drink.

If you're absolutely serious about stopping drinking ... then do the following - NEVER purchase alcohol. NEVER allow another person to purchase alcohol for you. NEVER set foot inside a bar. NEVER accept alcohol from anyone at all, even when it's unexpectedly offered to you. NEVER allow anyone to bring alcohol into your living space on any occasion whatsoever. NEVER put even a single drop of alcohol into your mouth. There - and I dumbed it down a bit even for all of the dummies out there.

@@aeropepe504 - Doing works. Talking doesn't work. Correct choices must be made, or you fail. That goes for everything in life, and not just for alcohol. It's a pitiful thing to release your personal power to anything bad which has an influence on you, whether it's alcohol or anything else. Very simply ... if you do the things which I mentioned up above, then you'll succeed. Dumbing it down any more than this would just prove how seriously dumb you are.
