Tomorrow will be 2 weeks not a drop cold turkey. Its been 3 years since I've been sober this long... my life has turned around! I have money and work doordash after I get out of work. I love my life right now. When I was drinking I was throwing up hungover multiple days per week. Now the mornings are great!

Mornings- that's what made me stop my 20's partying. I hated waking up at 1PM on a beautiful Sunday summer morning. I'd look out my apartment window and see people walking by pushing baby carriages, kids riding by on their bikes, people in their yard barbecuing and here I was just getting out of bed and feeling like crap. Lossing a big chunk of your hard earned weekend was a motivator.
@TimothyWard4 жыл бұрын
I know exactly what you mean. I remember being so jealous of all my friends who got to experience their full weekend, while I spent most of mine in bed feeling horrible. So glad those days are over lol

Totally agree I stopped drinking over a year ago I wasn't a alcoholic but would drink heavily with the boys at weekends. But since then no hangovers, no low moods and more importantly my anxiety disappeared.

Love this video, totally relatable lol. I've been sober 5 years on July 15th, and there's no way I'd ever go back. The desire to drink has truly left me, and my life has improved beyond anything I could have imagined. Finally able to grow into the person I always knew I was and wanted to be. Congratulations on not drinking and living a better, healthier life. Keep sharing your story. Love you! 💜

Congratulations on the almost 5 years. That's a big milestone! I'm glad you mentioned about the desire to drink leaving you, this is something that you don't hear a lot when people speak about sobriety. Most people think the same intense urge to drink stays with you forever, but it doesn't. I will definitely keep sharing my story! Here's me sending love right back at you!

The amazing thing that happened to me since I got sober is.. I have four grown children, and three grandkids who don't drink. I ended generations of problematic drinkers, with just me. Also none of them are drug users. I am blessed.🙏

Pops, I appreciate this comment more than you know. It means a lot to me that you took the time to watch my video. Yeah there were some rough times when I was drinking but fortunately I had some really good parental role models to look to as examples of the type of person I wanted to ultimately be.

Thanks for the video enjoyed it.....I have struggled with alcohol for a long time....All your points I can relate to......Hangovers get worse as I’ve gotten older, sometimes horrific, so many wasted days.....I could easily spend €200 per week on alcohol, some weeks more than that, that’s a lot of money I’ve wasted......I’ve lied and let so many people down (including myself) mostly family, once the weekend came any family commitments or occasions would be forgotten about, a lot of regrets about that.....I am in the definition of a dead end job because I never used my brain, my brain was deadened by alcohol, once I had enough to live and drink I didn’t care about furthering myself and career.......I was arrested for DUI 10 years ago, lost my licence for 3 years and paid a big fine, I sore blind I would never drink again, within a week I was drinking again.....I’m trying hard to control it & didn’t drink last night and started today with this video....thanks for making it

Thank you Tim, your great energy is always good to see. My drinking days are long past, but I do have to remind myself here and there that it is a terrible idea. We have such a gigantic alcohol promotion culture now! Everywhere another wine bar and another brew pub and now the boutique hard liquor distilleries. (Could all the lockdown help some people get off that train? Not sure.) But the thing I care about is the brain. I research brain health for articles, and alcohol is by far the most detrimental to brain health. I think of it as a kind of savings account. Every day with no alcohol is another chunk in the brain bank. Drinking days are like flushing our brain power down the tube. It’s an investment in having a better, longer life, able to keep enjoying and keep contributing to what we care about. Alcohol is a brain destroyer.

Amen to every point on your list. Yep, yep and yep... then more yeps on top of that. :) If you are in Gainesville, FL and you like hiking, then I recommend Barr Hammock in Micanopy. Warning, it is very isolated and there can be gators on the trail, so you might want to take a friend with you.

Tim I quit drinking Monday -Thursday except March madness elite eight and draft day Thursday I was the only two time I drank during the wk . I’m on vacation and sleeping on a bad spring pull out so I get in bed at 11 so I can at least 7 - 7 1/2 hrs . I went to work many time hang over . The way I save money by not going to bp 3 month into my thirties . I realize that help me cut down on drinking . This wk I’m on vacation . Normally I don’t drink mon - Thursday . I took baby steps and now I’m cutting down on Saturday drinking I don’t drink k more then 3-4 beers but Friday night 6-8 in reality every Friday but before vacation the past 2 wk I’ve only had 6 on Friday before staying over parents was the first time in 3 wk I had 10 beers

really good video tim thanks for sharing. specially no hangovers. you hit a lot of good points. also drinking ruins any weight loss program. i only have 4 beers every Friday which might not be a lot. but it hasnt always been like this. and those 4 beers are a reminder of the past i want to let go. but i am trying to lose 10 lbs. so i decided to quit, hopefully for a long time. always i want to quit smoking and drinking doesnt help the situation.
