Dr. Trish Leigh has 100 percent helped me break this addiction. I've stopped watching porn, and more importantly the acting out that eventually evolves. I can't remember a time in my life when sex and porn wasn't there. I'm 55 now, and have masturbated and added porn for the last 45 years. I agree that porn addiction is harder than alcohol addiction recovery. And like any other addict, I can never say I'm cured or healed. It's always just below the surface and the perfect storm of circumstances can occur at any time. I have to be vigilant and constantly be on alert. It's hard, but hopefully is putting me on the right track to saving my marriage.

This is what the neuroscience has taught me and thanks to Dr. Trish for doing so....... All addicts have corrupted nueral pathways that they've developed. These pathways Cannot be killed , but you can atrophy them by not using them. You can thank Heb's law for that one...... The recovery worlds already know That you can't let your guard down. It's a very common understanding, That's the reason why they insist you "keep coming back" They say that. Granted They call it a disease, And as we know it's just neuroscience BUT at the end of the day that doesn't really matter. What matters is they understand That once you've been addicted to something, There's no going back To a normal life. You do in fact have to keep your guard up for the rest of your life. And once you've entered the maintenance phase, It's not that hard at all.

So then what is a healthy amount of masturbation. Obviously this is going to be different for everyone, but what does a healthy amount look like? What seems like an easy question to answer has become extremely murky. I never believed that porn was healthy, but I didn't think it was as incredibly harmful as I do now. This is leading me to question the relationship I have with masturbation even outside the use of pornography.

@drtrishleigh , thank you so much for your videos, my friend introduced you to me. I have been heavily addicted to porn for 15 years, and im 26 now. i've had seasons where i stopped, but they were short-lived and overshadowed by the multiple daily sessions (at times, reaching up to 10+ times per day). My dance with this addiction has been extensive. i was raised christian, and for a time this added an insurmountable level of guilt and shame to my spirit, which i now know are common sensations with porn addictions. but ultimately, i've always known i was a good person, and decided early on that through porn, i couldnt hurt anyone; no STDs, no pregnancy scares, no heartbreaks, no intermingling of energies. My story is a long one, and im sure you've heard every variation already. about 6 months ago, i prayed to whomever was listening, for a way out of this. being that i mixed my porn addiction with my weed addiction (of 7 years), the sensations were strong and deeply rooted. my categories went from normal sex, to men finishing on women, and finally to freeuse, and i eventually realized that all my life i was chasing a childhood fantasy of freeuse. and when i noticed the mainstream categories shifting in this direction, plus weed becoming more popularized, and the invention of VR, i became scared. i knew that if i didnt stop now, i would be trapped forever, bc it was as if the porn industry was reading my fantasies and creating exactly what i always hoped for as a young boy (i guess that goes to show that im not alone). About 6 months ago, i met the woman of my dreams. after many relationships and many breakups (not to mention a battle with PE and ED), i finally feel that i've met my future bride. She is a good and wise woman, and she said from the beginning that she cant have a life with a man who she shares with porn, nor does she want our children to watch their parents addicted to any substances. its been 6 months without porn or weed, though ive occasionally dabbled in viewing erotic images on google, or watching suggestive videos on youtube (with the excuse that, as long as theres no nudity, im fine). additionally, masterbation was running rampant for a while. i now find myself almost hoping that this relationship fails, so that i have an excuse to indulge in these addictions again. i see it effecting my relationships and i know that this desire is not the desire of my heart, and instead i yearn for freedom-- freedom in myself, to be my true Self, without dependency on anything. but i often fear that my relationship is the only thing keeping me from falling back into old habits, and i want to honor this love by loving myself, and choosing to stay sober for my sake, and then for her sake. I know you have 90 day courses, and im wondering if theres any way for me to speak with you, and share my story fully, and glean some perspective. i realize i need help, and i need a group, bc i want to finally be healed. i know it will be a never-ending journey, but my heart is on fire for this mission, so that one day i can help many other men and women overcome this as well (including my future children). Thanks for reading, and God bless you and your mission:) Peace and Love

If you find yourself with a masturbation problem that you can't seem to solve on your own, it may be necessary to seek professional help from your doctor, a counselor, or a sex therapist.
@user-ri9tt2ip4m11 ай бұрын
The problem with doctors is that they don't care. They want to prescribe you a generic drug like Sildenafil or Tadalafil, get their share of sale and forget about you ( that's how a majority of men even address the topic to their doctor only when they already have physical problems - ED, PE and so on). Doctors don't even ask you about porn use or ( worse) trying to convince you it's normal.

By God's grace and help we have to continue keep our minds and hearts renewed in the Holy Spirit and the word of God and having on the whole armour of God Amen. Whenever we feel a lust spirit coming on lustful thoughts come into our mind we have to get rid of those thoughts as fast as they come. Stop the Devil the hyjacker right in his tracks don't let the Devil get a foothold or a strong hold. There is an old saying you can't stop a bird from flying over your head but you don't have to allow him to make a nest in your head or hair.Temptations are going to come more or less here and there that's where we have to stand out ground. For those few moments of all the pleasures and delights that we may temporarily enjoy. Just think of all the termoil we go thru after. The guilt shame feeling really bad you feel like something that crawled out of a sewer a cesspool. So you come to realize it's not worth it. I rather obey the Lord his word his Holy Spirit have on the whole armour of God and when we overcome more and more and more we gain momentum and we feel so darn good within our selves. That's why the Devil gets so mad and furious he says to his fallen angels and demons hey fellas we are losing another good man . Let's keep after him till he falls and we get him or her into horrible bondage and slavery again. Everything with the Devil is lies falsehood and deception. But by God's grace and help we all can and will keep pressing onto more and more total deliverance freedom and overcoming total victory in the Lord Jesus Christ.Amen.
