@@realfreedom8932 People really do assume the worst is going to happen. What if things don't work out? What if you lose your job or income? People sell everything because things weren't working out how they were doing it to begin with. I can speak for myself, as a single man, I can live very cheaply no matter what environment I find myself in. I don't need a lot of money to get by. I don't have debt, my only expense is rent and health insurance, so I'll be okay no matter what kind of job or even savings. These kinds of questions really are "Why isn't this man going back to the plantation?"

Hi Tim! I’m a RN who has been doing what you’ve suggested for 4+ years. Gradually reducing my stuff. Watching ytube vanlife ( Bob Wells and Chrome Valdez) and minimalism videos. Finally got fed up with “ work-sleep -work” ( whether at the hospital or taking care of my home and yard). As a solo female homeowner all I could do was work to pay the bills. No time to travel because I had to work to pay the mortgage. In 2020 I had enough of the loud traffic noises and fireworks that traumatized my dog ( despite it being illegal in the city). I contacted my realtor and within a month sold as much of my stuff as I could ( including the house!) and donated the rest. Bought a van that is currently being built into an RV. I still watch these videos because they are inspiring. I left my job as a RN ( after 30+ years) and am researching this life as much as I can. As a young 54 y/o I’m getting back into shape since I have the time to get out and enjoy nature. Thank you for your inspiring words!!

I find people in IT more enthusiastic about their careers, plus these days you stand a chance of working remotely. So I thank God everyday for being in this field. Tim, I figured out this a couple years ago. I quit my corporate job, got a CDL and became a trucker. I got rid of my apartment and crap. I'm currently living out of my truck. I have seen the entire country. Everyday I'm sleeping in a different state than the day before. Driving the truck might be work to most, but I love driving, I find it therapeutic. And I love looking at the landscape as I listen to music. All I own is what's on my truck. I have no bills that I can't handle with one week of pay. I also make a six figure income. My life is anxiety free, except for worrying about the other people in my life and them having issues in their worlds. I have enough money to travel anywhere in the world. So that is my next step.

So many of us are dealing with anxiety and fear (much of it stemming from childhood experiences and traumas) and cling to "stuff", relationships and people, a job (just over broke), and a myriad other things. It is liberating and refreshing to see you doing what so many genuinely want to do and that is ESCAPE our current situations and life. Over a year ago I took radical action in my own life and took the plunge off the cliff into the unknown. I am still here, still surviving but I am slowly falling back into the fear trap again. My main fear now is as I am getting older, how will I maintain when, though my mind is willing, my body is wearing out... I salute your sharing and inspiring so many to break free and I wish you continued success 🙏🏾
@jbaby007

Courage is just walking in fear with a prayer. The fear never stops but it does slowly subside the more you jump in. I promise it's worth it. Whatever you do, don't be one of those people on your death bed regretting never taking the leap. What's the worst that could happen? You fail? Then you learned something and now you try a different approach. Life is too short. You got this. You can't change the past but you can create your future. Much love 💜✌🏾

I was thinking lately, since I have a cell phone, I don’t need a TV, Computer or laptop, Internet/Cable, Movies, I can talk with anyone at anytime, video chat, conduct business, and there are endless helpful apps. Do I really need a big house? I just need access to a bathroom, kitchen, and a place to sleep. How much furniture do you really need? You can only sit in one seat at a time, so you only need 1 chair. There is so much crap that I own and don’t use it is ridiculous. Tim makes a great point in being minimalistic, I think it is the way to go and agree. My job is flexible enough with great pay and travel expenses covered that it doesn’t make sense for me to quit it, so I’m going to keep it. But as for the JUNK in my life, it’s time to let go. Eventually I realized that the nonadic life I craved required money, therefore a job. So here I am, in bondage again because I need health insurance and money in order to feel truly free.

I am so happy I came across your channel! You are such an inspiration to people that want to listen:) The first video I came across was when you were walking through Glacier national park and were talking about how you need to have a date to leave or else you never will... I have been wanting to live simply for a few years, but people's opinions of the life I WANTED made me stay in the cycle of doing jobs that were unfulfilling. It's been almost 2 years since I graduated high school and I became very depressed because there was no purpose that I saw at the time. I had enough of living for others and not myself. It was time to respect myself and when I was ready (I felt like it was divine timing) I left a job because I FNALLY listened to my needs. Recently I set a date!!!! January 1st is the day I'm leaving to travel anywhere I want to go in my civic. I live on the east coast and I wouldn't want to wait till the spring to travel. I could die tomorrow and I would DEFINITELY regret it if I didn't follow my heart. Weather passes, just like emotions do. I think the hardest part for me right now is not writing down my parents for the opinions I take into consideration. They do not belong on that list. I need to let go of all their fears about me and what lifestyle I'm choosing to live. I will be documenting this magical journey on my channel! Mindset is everything. BELIEVE YOU CAN AND YOU WILL!!! I have lots of appreciation for what you are sharing. The truth can scare people. But it is so necessary in order to figure out what path you want to create for yourself! Dig a path for yourself... If you follow one you may be regretful for not listening to yourself. Anyone who is reading this, just know you are capable of so much and everyone has the same worth. Create your life. SEEK DISCOMFORT!!!!!

Watching the mama goose and babies in the video made me realize “animals don’t ‘own’ “stuff”.” They’re free. They go where they want and experience everything in the moment. Humans have it backwards.

Hey Tim, I quit my job, sold my crap and I'm on a flight to South Korea on the 30 of August (three days from this reply). I just recently found your channel and watch a ton of your videos. I'm an introvert (INFP-T) and have that "nomad soul." Feels liberating to get rid of so much stuff, including a non-support job. Take care!

🦋This video is that moment when it really clicks for me. I’m going nomad! I’ve been watching survival KZbin videos for months and tiny home and van life videos for years before that… I’m traversing my own spiritual awakening the last 5 years and slowly releasing the old way of being. I’m feeling the pull of freedom that is radiating through this video! I’ve been sketching out ways to make my Ford Flex my tiny home on wheels. Your video has been the final confirmation to me that it’s time. Ima just do it! Thank you, sunshine! I send you a whole lotta love🦋

I like how you encourage people to work ordinary jobs. When I was young, I bummed around the country and worked for Manpower. It was great but I no longer have any desire to travel. Now, when I have to travel, I can't wait to get home.

just came across this guy and i love his content, inspiring but also kind of chill laid back style, said differently he is really articulate if he needed some extra money on the road doing speaking events {which i get is kind of counter to what he is saying, but not really} he could lead a crowd, he could motivate people in person, just my 2 cents, but good work man i like it

Real talk, to live like you, having a lot responsibility like a wife and kid is prohibitive and not in the cards. I can say this because I've lived both lives. A small nut, no debts, no wife or kids provides the ultimate in free living. As you accumulate these responsibilities you become very restricted. Cold hard facts. People tripped out 6 years ago at my big time govt job when I would tell them I lived in a van. Once I got married and had a kid that ride ended. Both have been great

SUCH a great video!! I'm currently emphasizing on this 3-step plan , especially the "Sell your crap" portion because yea my whole life is in my small car and I think that's impressive considering my whole life, but at the same time, when I accumulate things, it sucks😂. So now I'm REALLY going to start getting rid of things and really lighten my life. You're the best Tim, thank you!!😁

I don't want to do remote or run a business but i do love travelling so in a few weeks i'll be done school and have my cdl. Then i'm hitting the road and never lookin' back. If i want to fly somewhere and my boss don't like it, i'll just quit! Plenty of jobs out there for cdl holders. 😎

I was ready to. Then a very cheap senior apartment came up. I am almost 66. I have a really bad back and hip. Not sure if leaving would be crazy.I have the van. It still needs a front end.That will be fixed next. I don't have the luxury of getting it back if i give it up. But I am bored.❤
