I have noticed any time you tend to go against the grain, it is confronting to others. I see it as somehow it threatens in them what they always believed to be true. Its like they are saying "how can you go and do that?" Or You weren't taught to do that, or most people in society don't do that so who do you think you are.. I was literally told by someone once "you can't do that" haha I left at 19, almost 20 years ago now to travel and live on my own terms and I got a lot of resistance from some people. Im Still living this way and still have felt that from some people over the years because I was very young or still am on the younger side. But I always listened to my heart, I trekked my own path and made travel a priority because it always called to my spirit. I chose not to go to college, have kids and do the conventional things, that was my choice, just as they had their choice. Im very fortunate that im healthy and have been able to find the means to live the way I want and im so grateful. But it is interesting how making your choices will stir up other people's stuff, remember thats what it is.. their stuff. This is your life, you choose how to live it.

yeah, growing up i was always stressed about how i need to do this and that. as i get older i realize none of that matters, what you do to experience life is most important. like you, my life is different from most people. a majority of people my age have a very controlled life - they go to work, come home, take care of children, pay bills, etc...maybe take one or two vacations a year with their family. they are all too busy to meet up now. i'm a lone wolf, i work a lot but outside of that i have no ties to anyone. so for the most part i have a lot of freedom. everyone is so obsessed with "goals" that it's rare to find someone who enjoys the simple things rather than collecting material possessions.

So I’m going to get myself out of the small amount debt I have, buy a little camper trailer I can pull behind my Toyota, and hit the road in search of freedom. We were not given life to be worker bees, or to line the pockets of the 1%. Timothy I love your message. My dad worked for the same place for 40 years and retired with a pension. I was quite different. I took to the road to seek adventure. I discovered contract work and could sustain my adventure with work wherever I ended up. It was not free of stress on the job or when business was thin financially. I took what came with the package. It brought me as sense of freedom and control. Not over everything but enough to feel that it was the right life for me. I will tell you that the adventure continues now for me into my later years. Now the challenge is keeping and fighting for the freedom against a changing landscape and staying on the course of adventure when obstacles come your way. The fight keeps you young. Just keep swinging if they come at you and try to take it away. They can't have your freedom, purpose and happiness.

I felt this "let go of control" recently traveling across Europe for 2 weeks - every day going with spontaneous plans and exploration - incredible experience, still feeling "more awake" weeks later now. Opening up to foreign locals, opening up to new experiences, opening up to intuition. Some people get super stressed with travel and planning it all out but I can say it's absolutely not required to be like that lol and you'll have a greater adventurous to let the travel unfold for itself. I've had moments I had to learn a lot real fast in the heat of survival and that's great and pretty normal actually. Like learning the different European train systems and reserving seats during planned strikes (particularly in Italy) - part of the process, added spice to the adventure. "Going with the flow" seems most important with the self - really meditate and "sink into the self" - throwing ourselves into new experiences can help reveal more of who we are. People can make all the excuses in the world to avoid experiencing more of life but the truth remains... we're born curious explorers and shouldn't stop engaging that stimulating innate curiosity to keep learning about the world and ourselves.
